dear lord..

well.. 5% chance of playing you each round...

*sigh*

its a pretty right spiffy list against most armies.

looks to be a challenging event.

concerning the LR list

if you depstrike your toast..

4 mystics getting to roll 4d6, then nominate anything with 12" to wail on you.

thats up to 4 free units firing at you before you can do anything. it is truly a daemon hunter list.

*********************************************

daemon players will not be enjoying this.. nor drop IG

I doubt you'll see very many people playing it. For one, not everyone reads Dakka (heresy!!). For two, it's rather pricy at $50 a tank. Even if most armies could easily reach the same price with the numbers of units you could get, the individual cost per item will weigh on a person psychologically.

However, I think you'll see a good number of people maxing their list to fight what they believe is the inevitable flood of seven Land Raider lists. I know one guy who's looking at a list with something like 16 lascannons for example. That's one reason I'm not taking my tri-Monolith list. Three Monoliths just won't stand up to a list designed to deal with seven Land Raiders.

True enough.. it is an interesting list.. and i think it will motivate people to up their anti-armor...

I would be surprised if more the 2 out of the 40 at lakewood show up with it.

wait wait wait wait... huh..?

I'm really tempted to start getting some raiders. I did the math, and it would cost me less than my regular SM army

I play (homegrown chapter)

I've got seven landraiders, but I'm running something different. Even if everyone hasn't specifically tuned their list to fight it, there are very few people that haven't strategised for it. Good luck on saturday everybody!

If more of us valued food and cheer and 40K over hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

Um...'Ard Boyz is US only...or do you just mean how hard is it to beat in general? How many 2500 point games do you play? You can't cram all seven LR's in at less than 2500.

Sure you can. You just take smaller Inquisitorial Retinues, only two units of Storm Troopers, and drop the Grey Knight Grand Master.

Ohhhh I see it for myself now, awesome list. It is list like these that cause codecies to get nerfed by GW when certain builds are deemed to powerful and out of balance (I did not say cheesy, just to cookie cutter). It seems like GW is trying to attack certain builds to influence play somewhat. I have no problem with it and believe I could beat it with my list containing 9 bright lances in it with the right strategy and matching scenario. I like the set up and challenge.

Heck, after seeing semi finals missions, the Black Templar Land Raider spam could be downright silly to play against.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Nine Bright Lances are not enough, you drop one if your lucky on the first turn and then they're on top of you. And they do nothing to Black Templar Land Raiders.

Please everyone bring 7 landraider lists. I dearly hope that you all continue listening to Stelek's dubious advice, and I hope to face you in every single round of this event.

What will be interesting to watch is when the 7LR lists start playing one another.

Salamander Marines 65-12-13
Dark Eldar Wych Cult 4-1-0
Dark Eldar Kabal 36-10-4
2010 Indy GT Tournament Record: 11-6-3

I really don't understand how people win with this list.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

It's more the difficulties involved in losing with this list. It would table any vanilla army, and if you're tailored against it then you've got Ork problems. After the last few greenskin wins I think this is a very advantageous list.

I haven't played LR spam since 5th, and they math out a little harder to pop this time. Good luck opponents of this list, especially the dude with 9 Brightlances. You'll need, bud.

mission 1
get more killpoints which four of the land raiders are worthless, but provide good cover to your crusaders.
mission 2 contest objectives tank shock guys off objectives .
mission 3 hold your objective get more kill points.

it comes down that killing 7 land raiders is hard. and it can kill enough of your stuff to win. massacres are hard.

I was going to post something, but decided not to for clandestine reasons. There is always a weakness to every list that can be exploited. Most will be intimidated by a list of seven land raiders before the game even starts because they will not have enough to take all of them down. However, any get strategist would use tactics to at least make it a good game. I did the same thing in the first round. I beat a NID player playing the eight big Nidzilla creatures all load with stranglers with three full squads of gaunts and genestealers. Most opponents got ran over. I was bold enough to tell one of his opponents that he could have won if he would have not panicked and shot the wrong targets ( I told him after his game when he asked me how could I beat that list, that he considered unbeatable). I applied the same tactics I advised him of and won. My opponent admitted that he had lost games before, so even he was aware of weaknesses within his army list. I have my own weakness as well.

Ah so it works on a Victory Point trade? You have less victory points over all to have taken from you ad you gain more so even if you lose everything and get tabled then you win.

That makes sense just seems a heavy weapon geared army or something that has good anti tank would hurt it.

Hell Drop poding Tactical Squads with Meltas or Waveserpent Fire Dragons seem to be pretty hard on it.

Just center a drop pod on top of the tank. sure its gonna scatter

Locator beacons help that though.

I played some guy that had 4 landraiders and blew them all up. I just don't understand how it wins I would have to see a game played. It just seems that it has to few a number of models to not be overwhelmed with firepower.

the problem comes in the list that work over 7 land raiders don't handle 200+ orks very well.
which on are you more likely to see?
which one are you going to slant your list too?
