Hey first post..ahahah
Had everything already typed out, but firefox ccrapped out for some reason just when I was about to submit so I'm retyping everything... here's the condensed version, because I don't want to type it all out again...
Making a mecha armored company borrowing off of mechwarrior type robots (semi-realistic) while keeping the gothic 40k nature. Been inspired alot by other people's mecha conversions here, trying not to steal any ideas though.
Idea for the background is some half insane adeptus mechanus tech priest building himself an army out of half dead soldiers and infusing them with machines, basically amking giant servitors in a sense...possibly necron ties?

Anyways here's what I have accomplished so far... this guy will count as a leman russ when done...
Body

Legs

Together...

Some of it is just held by sticky tack... very WIP....

You might want to do something about those feet, make them chunkier. Imperial stuff tends to be very chunky. By the way, check my Machine Plague thread, the larger walker might give you some ideas.

good point... I was going to try and bulk up alot the legs by adding in a bunch of wires and stuff, I'll try and spend some extra time working on the feet though...

I would keep the Necrons out of the fluff/units of your force. Just make them rebel Mechanicus (don't even have to be Chaos aligned).

You might want to use that strapped human part from the SoB's Pentinent Engine. All sorts of humans (half alive/half dead perhaps even) strapped to those machines as if in torture to control them.

Another cool thing to see would be swarms (oh yeah!!!) of Servo Skulls flying around everywhere!

Deffinetly going to be using servo skulls. Thinking possibly about have the techpriest standing out on top of a small balcony on the command tank with a bunch a servo skulls around him.

Got the legs attached, been throwing around some ideas for side sponson arms. Here's my favorite idea so far...

And with the battle cannon... going to be making it into a more turret like shape, but just a rough idea...

decided to ditch going for an armored company of these guys. I think one or two is good enough.... Going to try and go with a chaotic adeptus mechanus IG army instead.

Anyways... updates, been super busy with school (I have a hard senior year..)
Pics with an old guardsman of mine for comparison purposes...

soon to be heavy flamer arms.... just need to get them mounted.

Also, I did add some rivets using the white glue method, they are a little hard to see though. You can see them best on the legs, but they are all over the model.

Hmm while you did a good job it still looks too much like a Rhino with legs on it, you need to make the Rhino unrecognisable.

The "tanks on legs" idea reminds me of an old playstation 2 game called Ring of Red.

I dig it. though i agree the legs seem a bit fragile and make the overall model unbalanced looking. Beefing them out would fix this I think. Something like this:

its a good idea, I agree with dropping the necron idea - seems like everyone scratch building admech these days trys to shoe horn the void dragon in there.

Are the leg bits from a gundam kit or something?

Necron idea is dropped for sure.. had a bunch of fun making some nurgle-ized stormtroopers so I decided I'm just going to go with a nurgle themed chaosy imperial guard. Going to start adding some mold and junk to the model soon.

Legs are from an armored core kit, albeit assembled wrong..
