this is something that started out as a bored night in and ended up as an order for multiple castings being made professionally for sale all in about 3 weeks from start to finish. my head is still trying to get to grips with it all.
anyway this is my take on a plague demon lord (see how i didnt use the N word) and it'll be available for sale within the next few weeks for roughly £30. if you want to reserve one please PM me with your name and email address so i can contact you come the time. at first there is only 20 castings and 10 of them are spoken for so if you want one say now because a restock could take a month to reach me.
and without further waffle here is the finished product. he's in resin by the way.

Did Fulgrim Just Behead Ferrus?
|
That thing is just scary! The amount of detail is amazing. But for some reason I'm not too fond of how you did the arms and feet, the arms seem a bit off as in that they look as if part of the main body instead of "separate" limbs, as if sculpted out of the body sort of thing.
Did that make any sense?
Keep up the good work man!

it makes sense because thats how i wanted them believe it or not. i kind of wanted him to be a putrid budda kind of pose, bloated and squat in appearance.
im not 100% happy with it but for my first mini im pleased and its being recieved well.
a giant following the same rotting theme is half finished, pictures up soon.

I know what you mean with the putrid Buddha, but there is a difference between a statue and a figure which actually has to "move around" sort of speak.
But if that is your first mini...damn! You're good! You cast and sell them all yourself or work for some company?

i do it myself, i tried to cast them at home but it turned out to be a expensive and messy mistake. i have them cast by a company and im just sort of testing the waters with this piece. alot of people i know really wanted a copy and i was more or less forced to produce it lol
so i find myself flung into the world of the one man band mini companies. maybe it'll work out.

Amazing sculpting; please let us know if you will indeed be casting this and/or your giant in progress.
If it's not too much to ask, can we see a coupla pic of the tools you use and hear a little about your process?

its available as of next week cast in resin in limited numbers. the pictures shown here is the final cast up piece so if you want one PM me and we can go from there.
the tools are more or less very basic sculpting tools, i make extensive use of a latex clay shapers and a dentist tools, empty pens, nail manicure tools etc. anything pointy or shaped in a way i can use.
the process for any sculpt i do is basically a wire dolly bulked out with tin foil if i need to and then covered in a layer of putty and left to dry. i tend to make alot up as i go along so i sculpt detail as i go rather than in layers if you know what i mean.
i can get some pics up maybe in the next few days but im so busy right now, moving house, work, college, baby, sorting these castings out etc. i'll do my best
thanks for taking an interest btw everyone
