i liked the lizards for a long time now and finaly bought some, i know the new lizarda are comng out but im getting some deals on ebay etc so i have the old book..pretty much useless but whatever...24 skinks..40 suarus and 5 cold ones...what should i buy next and should i wait to purchase any more for the new models and find out their new rules or try and get a good bargain, like on skinks? and what kind of list could i start to make with what i have?

I've heard from my local GW (for what its worth) that saurus will stay the same models, and you have enough of them for up to 3000 points easily.

A slaan mage priest would be my pic as a start as its a huge chunk of points and is a great model currently (even if they replace it)

As to the army...

Lizzies work extremely well thanks to the specials and the rares and the characters working in with the core. A core heavy army is weak for them.

get some terradons, they will be great in the new book, if not on their own then as mounts for a skink chief or two. also you can't go wrong with a slaan, or some more skinks/saurus

Skinks, most of all you need skinks... 24 is not going to cut it. Also, kroxigor, very good unit.
To top it off, perhaps some salamanders.

i would wait for the new book. it sounds like it is going to change a lot of things for the lizardmen. im happy but sad since i will most likely have to resturcture my entire army. if you want to just get some models to play around with, go for Kroxigors. they work well with skinks, make the unit four big and it'll be able to hold it's on. although i think that skinks are weedy, they are very useful, but as said, 24 wont do it in this rendition of the army book. you'll need at least fourty. the fourty saurus is nice, but the units work much better six in the front back four. that was actually some adive taht i read off of this forum site (tho i don't remeber who wrote it now...) and it works much better than a 5x5 or 5x4 or whatever.

ok so i took ur suggestion and picked up a slann cuz their just so sick i couldnt help it. im kinda waiting on the kroxigors cuz im really hoping they get new models, theyre kinda lame right now, IMHO. the terradons are also very cool but again waiting to see if they get redone. i was certianly planning on getting salamanders but i thought they were going to get nerfed in the new book so i figured maybe i should wait and find out if they will remain so good. finaly, why am i really going to need 40 skinks in a 2000 point army? i know i need screaners but i was thinking getting liek 6 more and having two screens and and a scouting unit of ten. is one more screener very important?

im pretty nubbish so anything that ive said thats stupid just tell me

if you know any rumors that are like get your hands on as many skinks as possible could you share them?

Kroxigors are getting a new model, so while they will still probably be good in gameplay, unless you like either the current model or the older model you should probably wait for the new models.

Stegadons are also being redone, there is a topic in the news and rumors sections as well as temple guard being made from plastics, so don't spend extra cash on metal ones right now.

From the sounds of it, Slaan, saurus, skinks, salamanders are all staying as is. Cold one riders are up in the air, I haven't seen any confirmed rumors, but the new dark elf cold ones look so awesome many people are asuming they'll be ported over to lizardmen. If not, there's always conversions....
