Subject: Ripper Swarms, too good to be true?

Assembling a fresh army list for a battle next week i've just noticed some interesting wording for the Ripper Swarm entry in the Nid codex.
It lists them as 'Ripper Swarm, 10 Pts'
And then, on the next line..
'Brood: A Ripper Swarm consists of between 3 and 10 Ripper bases.'
Going off the wording, that would mean I could take TEN ripper bases for 10 points. Thats 30 wounds and 30 attacks.
I'm gonna go ahead here and play it safe and assume it means 10 points per base, not per swarm, or maybe this is a bullet-sponge i've never noticed before?

Each base is a ripper swarm So 10 points per base.
FYI, there nowhere near as good as they used to be, they were one of the greatest tar pits ever, but the new combat rules are quite rough on them :(

Those dang anklebiters...
It is indeed 10 pts per base... One point per base would be a little ridiculous, dont you think

It would be ridiculous, but pretty damn awesome for us Tyranid players.

Yeah it would! Someone tried this one on The tyranid Hive, our consensus, while it would be great having all those attacks for a point each, was that it was DEFINATELY PER BASE.
Nice try though

The wording isn't dodgy. The points value quoted in the profile of each entry in the army list is always 'Pts/model'.

I think nids are cost effective enough with out ripper costing a pt per model. and the way you put it you could decide to put on 1-3 models per base if it was per model why would you put on 3 and have it cost 30pt when you could put on 1 and have it cost 10 and have the same thing ? It just means per base even if worded in a fluffy way.
