I'm planning a Land Raider for my World Eater Army. It's going to include Daemonic Possession. I was looking at the Space Marine Codex last night and I decided I want to make my Land Raider a real show piece. So I'm looking to really make my Land Raider like something that could transport Angron but I don't want to just go the "insert spiky bits here" route. I want something evil and gothic, a "dark reflection" of Marneus Calgar's Land Raider I was thinking of adding things like golden daemons on the front and banners. And yes a few body parts can be strewn about.

just a few ideas:

a cauldron of blood on the top (not the real model, just a plain cauldron full of blood) maybe some sacrificial items with it aswell.
maybe a pannel on each side coated in skulls.
go with FW doors, allthoughthey might not fit 100% (good ol' FW)

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

well, maybe get some plastic blood letters, cut them in half ( ie, cut the back of ) then you can lay them flat on the front track guards, paint them up bronze as statues, lots of skulls ornamenting it, fw brass khorne icons, head of a blood thirster painted bronze on the front hatch, chains, zombies chained to it, allsorts. I have been thinking about doing something similar now i have decided to do a khorne army instead of nurgle, the skys the limit, just browse through the gw and fw stores and you will find that pieces jump out at you with conversion possibilty's

San Diego.

Go to the craft store (Michaels or an equivalent), and pick up a bunch of skulls from Halloween decorations. Then use them liberally on your land raider.

Fixed. This is a good idea, i saw a slaaneshi one done up this way, and it looked very good. Perhaps you could also have some bloodletters supporting a cauldron of blood?

Malfred: Terminator Armor has always had room for extra boobage.
Drake_Marcus: It's true- that's why the Space Wolves love termie armour so much. The whole "bear" thing they've got going on is just a thinly veiled cover-up of their huge, hairy cleavage.

you could make it a moving altar of blood, lots of spikes and bronze imagery and stuff.. ofcourse also icons and heaps of skulls, and a nice deep dark, nearly blackish red color...

i would do the following:
- insert murals or reliefs in the sides, like i have done it with my space-wolves land raider. but in your case i'd use cruel concepts or khornedemons as statues.
- redisign fronthatch to make it look more brutal. e.g. by adding spikes and stuff. ...
- replace almost all plain, loyal looking armor againts iron armor, with lots of rivets
- replace autoturret (heavy bolters) against crewed turret.
- add big banner on top.
- remove loyal tracks with chaostracks from FW.
- buy 3 or 4 set of FW-tracks and you will enough pieces to close the ring and remove all top-armor covering the tracks.
=> this is realy effective, when you want to make a LR look more brute .... becuase tracks are something always moving, mechanical and spiky.
.....
if you do not want to use relief-technique i used at my lords raider, you could also simply combine the LR-sides with COD-parts, which i did with my priests raider. ...
.
check out my thread and you'll know what i mean ....

i think such a LR, matching the marneus LR in quality and technique can be build within 3-4 hours.- maybe less. depending on someones skills. but if you want to do it better, which should be easily possible, i would suggest to invest ~ 10 hours and redisign almost everything. (armor, tracks, doors, sides). ... the only think i would keep is the LR's shape and the LC-sponsons.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
but i never would add useless stuff on top of a tank. ....
what is useless stuff?! ...: pots with blood, bis torches, altars, statues ...
in my opinion khorne does not mean to creat something nice looking or something with lots of polished detail. even altar and things like that are not needed to please khorne. ... IF the machine itself serves only one essential purpose: killing.
the design of the machine is not important at all. => i would simply keep it brutal and unconventional.

If you're good with GS you could turn the front hatch into a mouth, I think it would fit the possessed vehicle image quite nicely.
