Trying to make Lootas look more interesting, and making some extra ones by combining the bits from an old metal Devastator squad and the Ork Boyz box... 8) Work In Progress obviously, the assault cannon boy should be a bit less wonky eventually, he's not glued yet. Had to drill and pin all the joints on the Plasma Kannon boy to make him work.

I'll keep this thread updated as I go along, I've got Lootas, Burnas, AOBR x2, Ork Boyz box x 5 (old 16 boy box) and x 1 new box, and a trukk to be getting on with. As you can see I don't really like having completely standard units and like to tweak things a bit. The assault cannon came off a Land Speeder Tornado kit just because the Orky assault kannon looks poo and is too small to drill the barrels to make it look like a proper chain gun.

I've got no end of bits and bobs to tweak about over the next few weeks so hopefully this will be a fairly good record of it all.

Comments and suggestions welcome and appreciated.

I like what you have so far, and where did you get the gun you put on the loota that front bit looks great I kind of want some of those lol.

I've got another few of those, and I've also got loads of multimeltas and heavy bolters kicking around, as well as a lascannon... I've made a nice multimelta/bolter combo which looks suitably SnazzGunn-ish for any spare AOBR nobs I have after I've outfitted all the boyz squads with Nobs to lead them.

On the plasma cannon boy, the left arm is the normal chainsaw boy arm, with the chainsaw cut off above the hand and then the hand cut off at the wrist, drilled and pinned to get it rotated. It works really nicely as there's a bandage in just the right place there to hide the cut and it has a suitable handle for a big gun grip.

I couldn't have done either of these without my GW Razor Saw, I was amazed by just how good it was, and how fine a cut you can do. For example, cutting off the top Rokkits on the Koptas, I've cut them on the first recess in the rokkit shape, and haven't damaged either of the resulting parts so the Rokkit tips will be used to convert something else.

just don't use it to cut copper or brass mine looks like a piece of steel with a little black line on it no teef all gone
