hi peeps, i thought i do a little wip thread on some GK's im working, now i know im not the greatest painter in the world, and theres a lot of painting methods i just cant the hang of. so i will post some pics and see what C&C you have for em, but first just to give an idea of finished models, i will also post some black templars that i painted for someone else.

ok now for the GK's

the one above was undercoated in gun metal then had a black wash applyed, then a dry brush with bolt gun metal

starting to pick some detail

Your Grey Knights need more color. Bolter, shoulder trims, stuff like that.

When i painted some Gk's i found that a black and blue wash over the silver works well, only a thin mix though.

yeah,
your painting is very tidy, so i think you should try a thin all over everything Wash...
I've never painted grey kniights before but the thin blue/black mix sounds right.
wont take much time and will erally bring out the details.

yeah, theyve had a black wash then a light dry brush of boltgun metal, they do look better in the fleash so to speak, i may give em 1 more thin black wash whenthere almost done, the black wash shows up more on the LR and LRC on the boltgun metal part of the body, i try ad get a few more pics up tonight, when they should have there seals done and the justicars tabard (either be base coat or finished, all depends on how this cold i got buggers me up.......lol), im planing to do the shoulde pads in red, but cant decide to keep it a dark red or a bit brighter (not too bright though), may keep em the same shade of red as on the raiders.

just a quick update, heres a pic of one of the GK's, he's about 90% done

still cant make me mind for the colour for the weapon harft yet, main thing that needs finishing on this model is the wash's and high lights on the seals and scroll work.

just a quick Q guys, is it just me, or is the kommando karki paint realy thin and crap to use, as it seems to have trouble even going over white?
so is it a crap paint, or i have just one from a dodgey batch?

I would norm build it up through the Creamy browns.

The Grey knights are starting to shape up. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing some solid colors to help offset all that metallic you have going on. But overall a solid scheme.

the painting on the seals and cloth and badges is naff, and they are quite chipped as they have been in the garage for years.

lo, sounds like the normal quality of GW paints, funny enough though, i stll got some of the origional paints they released years ago (round pots and white flip up lids) and they work a hell of a lot better than some of the newer paints

My eldar will be fielding just 18 men if its any consolation. Those Dark Reapers cost a lot of points!

Reminds me of the time when an open pot of Goblin Green somehow went flying onto a Tau battlesuit I was painting a few years back
