back in the olden days of Genestealer Cults (early nineties), there was fluff for Genestealer Hybrids - as part of their infiltration/subversion strategy, Genestealers would 'breed' with humans creating First Generation Hybrids (really ugly four armed hunchbacked humanoids) and they in turn would then breed with humans creating Second Generation Hybrids (not quite as ugly, two or three armed humanoids that could almost pass for normal).

I'd like to use First Generation Hybrids to represent scuttling Genestealers, to avoid all my genestealers looking exactly the same. Fluffwise, the Hybrids have been living in hiding on the soon-to-be invaded planet, awaiting the main nid invasion, and are now popping out to 'surprise' their human half-parents by eating them alive But the small variety of official GW models are long out of production, so how to convert them?

I think the standard stealer heads will be fine, the legs will be standard trousered human legs (misshapen with the aid of some greenstuff) and the armes will be a combination of human and nid arms. But I can't think how to do the torsos - I need a bulky hunchback with enough room for four arms. Hoods and cloaks are fine, but I'd rather not do the whole thing in greenstuff due to lack of talent. Something tough and armoured looking would also be fine to represent Extended Carapace - possibly that would be best done with looted/handmade armour - but I'll also need some unarmoured ones. Any ideas for plastics to use as a base for such torsos, beyond just chopping up the stealer torsos?

I've seen people put stealer heads on normal humans with green stuff head robs, to disguise their hideous faces from the public as well as showing that their in a cult.

Plague monk bodies?
They look a little hunchbacked if you're not a skaven, and they have robes on, which makes them look all cultisty.

Not only are the "new" ghouls in the ideal pose, they allready posess some genestealer-like ferocity.
Not only that, but its a pretty cheap mix since both come in plastic and good quantities.

They do look a bit feral but since they are plastic its really easy to modify - then again, if you are planning to use them as some certain genus of purestrain ruleswise, it wouldnt be out of the question to go totally left field and claim them as 0.1 gen hybrids that are closer to animal than human or somesuch.

my 5 cents.

I've not updated this in a while, got distracted by my BLOOD!zerkers but here's what I came up with cutting plague monks with genestealer bitz.

Hmm, they look cool but lack a certain "subtlety", not that the first generation hybrids are that subtle, it's just that the proportions are off, the heads and arms are just too big. What would have been great was if there were smaller heads and limbs which could be added to model in order to create hybrids.

innom, yeah, I did notice some of the ghouls are nicely hunched, i may try them. They'd certainly make good 2nd Gen Hybrids

nice conversions, Kid Kyoto, although they're a little shorter than I'd like (but fluffwise, presumably genestealers can impregnate space rats just as well as humans). Hmm, but with longer trousers poking out the robe hem, or completely replacing from the waist down with humanoid legs, they might be ok - the hunchback and hood are certainly along the lines of what I'm looking for, especially if I can get a stealer head to poke out of a svaven hood convincingly (bulking up the hoods with greenstuff would be easy enough).

btw, I'm definitely considering 2nd Gen Hybrids for 'counts as' gaunts - it would be a great excuse for some cool conversions, and I'm not that into the standard gaunts and their limited poses.

i put some new genestealer heads and arm on some body that i get mixing cadian body and imperial mercenaires from WHF , the result models are nice.perhaps i will paint it and post some pics .
i made also models with the old hybrid's arms.
(i have 10 or 12 old rough trader genestealer hybrids in my "fetish" bit box, but i don't touch this models. i only watch them in adoration )
