More or less what it says on the tin.

A bizarre array of focusing mirrors and lenses turning my phrases into even more accurate clones of

The Japanese Self Defense Force uniform is more-or-less identical to the U.S. pattern military uniforms right before the marpat came out. Including helmets.

Use Cadians.

The plastic models are probably your best bet for conversions, so I'd say cadians. A while back someone made some robed adeptus mechanicus guard using woodelf robed legs and green stuff. I don't know where it is.

What kind of look are you going for and do you want a whole army of it, or just one one unit?

If you're looking to do the WW 2 era Imperial Japanese Army you may want to consider Mordians for the parade ground style.

I was thinking modernish (maybe half modern with an hint of medieval) for the grunts and maybe a Samurai style for the IC and elites. I'll look for some historical figures from somewhere and maybe convert some to be half and half.

I'll be using Oriental flags (the long thin vertical ones) as markers.

For flavor. I'd also consider firewarrior shoulders for sode

I would mix Cadians and Tau Fire Warriors.

Oooo, those Westwinds are nice... good recommendation, Valhallan.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

Danke. I'd recommend pinning them, btw. Drop a plastic body with a metal head, and you're spending 30 minutes trying to find the head.
