ok im pretty sure ive come up with an idea for the scheme to my SM after years of playing them. what do you guys think? some more input would be good, specially if those ideas end up making the overall scheme better. C&C

I like it, but the red and blue really stand out against the black and green. I'd either tone them down, or go for all green and black myself.

thats ok. but the gun shoul be either black or a dark boltgun colour. not red. then the 'plasma' can stay blue as its a special weapon to make it stand out.
to be honest i stuggle with some colours on marines, and mint green is one of them.
but its completely your taste that matters

I like it mucho. I like everything about it.

Reminds me of Necrons, but then again I used almost the exactly same paint scheme on some of my Dire avengers. The gun will really contrast with the rest of the model as others have said so you may want to change that.

Black is rather dark (obviously) and makes highlighting and shadowing nigh on impossible.

You can do it in a comic book style by highlighting the black with very dark blue.

If you want a more realistic style you could try dark grey with black shadows.

Black is one of the easier colours to highlight I find as it so far to the one end of the spectrum, adding any colour to it can be a highlight.

As for your scheme, I'd drop the bright blue on the plasma pistol, but keep the gun red, that ok if you keep it consistent through all the bolters in the force.

As for the mint green...hold on one second (bleeeachh)

There we go. I think the mint green sticks out like a sore thumb, maybe gor for a snot green or even a foundation green.

hmm im guessing none of you have used the SM painter at the bolter and chainsword lol. I cant change the color of the plasma gun on there its just red and blue, but yea i deffinetly wasnt going to paint the gun that.
Axyl_its funny you say that because thats exactly where i stumbled upon this color scheme. I play dawn of war alot and the main SM army i use i called the "Psyco FreeeeekZ! and i colored them to look like Necrons, because my brother plays them ALOT and it was basically my way of saying he was of the homosexual nature lmao. thanks everyone!
