ok so me and me mate just got black reach, i was gunna convert then to chaos ( considering im a chaos player ) but i thought i might give sm a go, but there seems to be just one problem, i cant decide on a colour scheme.

I was origanally going to go with BT, but just recently found out that there codex hasent been updated for a very long time, and got told not to bother with them, now BT are still an option, but wat i really wanted to know was are there any " already existing armies " with a colour scheme that basicaly roars with awsomeness, mainly because i want to make this army very highly detailed and hopefully have a shot at a golden demon, or slayers sword.

If there are any other made up colour schemes that you have stumbled across and care to share them then that would be awsome to. Keep in mind, the models from black reach or just to perfect my newly wanted colour scheme before i try it on a special character.

Any help would be sweat.

blood ravens have a black knee pad and shoulders trims are black, bleached bone for shoulders, chest eagle, skulls etc

Maledictors. Normal marines are grey with silver curses and such engraved into their armour while veterans (including Terminators and such) have black armour.

Those are pre-Heresy Ultramarine who later on became the Praetors of Calth chapter.

The point I'm trying to make is that smurf too can be totally awesome, if done right!

Imperial Fists! with Neon Yellow! Blind your enemies into submission!

If you can paint a good clean yellow, that always makes for a striking army, and yet it's not one you see very often.

There's a guy from my local store just finished a 2k Imperial Fists army, done a pretty good job of it too, he's only a beginner but he's a really good painter, puts a few of my DA to shame...

well since im guessing your friend took the orks, crimson fists would be funny since they HATE HATE HATE!!!! orks. and i think the bright red fist contrasts rather nicely

I believe are called "Hammers of Dawn", a second founding off the imperial fists. Style...... think imperial fist cross Black Templar, and iron warriors(with the striping). They delve into the wrap to fight the heresy at its sauce regularly. check out the librarian, very chaos sorcerer.

I hope the pics work out soz if the don't, but a quick and effective paint job, black, gold trim, yellow symbol (fist holding a hammer), a little black/yellow warning strip and hey presto

anyway thats my two cents.

I know that this is a painting thread but a quick side note about BT, Their codex is old but I would say its still one of the most competitive armies out there right now so having an old codex is not a bad thing for them. As far as paint jobs go I like the dark look of Hammers of Dawn.

Oh dear God that is amazing! Where can I find myself some sweet helmets like those ones? Anyway back on topic :p I always thought the mantis warriors where pretty cool. Emerald green armor with a stripe (cant remember the color) that went down the middle of the helm. Though I gotta say that Maledictions look awesome.
