Total pts cost is 1,985 pts. Please feel free to C&C this list and I'll see if I can't get back info as to why I took them, and if you could give me some better ideas, they'd be appreciated thanks. Oh before I forget, this is a test build, so it isn't exactly on the table yet. Just looking to see how it might work for those that have used the units.

(Taking him, for his combat tactics ability that he gives to all my infantry units. Trying to make this a quick strike army, getting in to CC as fast as possible.)

What I'm most curious about are the Legion of the Damned squads, as I haven't really seen anyone using them in their lists. I'm curious to know if they would work in a list like this as the end to a 1-2 punch for a drop-podding/deep striking army. I know they're expensive, but for what they can do they just seem so amazing, that I'm surprised I'm not seeing at least 1 squad in many lists. Or are they just to good to be true and more of a fluff/fun squad for casual army play?

Accualy I did see one at my local tourny. sad part was they got shot by a squad of 20 luttas and he rolled a 6 for shots.. poor blighters, never stood a chance.

I think a unit of sterguard with combi meltas would be better than the second LotD squad. They would help against an opponent that uses land raiders or other high armor vehicles. The only Anti Armor you have is two PF's and a dread that can hope for rends.

Consider what you would do if you faced a choas army with three berzerker squads in LR's + plague marines for objectives. Or Mech Tau, Mech Eldar, Armored Company, etc. Sterguard can come down, pop a hard transport like a raider and allow the rest of your squads to unload on the unlucky passengers.

Other than that it is a nice in your face list ... I think I would drop the scouts in favor of bare bones termies also(extra points gained from LotD changing to sterguard), but on the other hand the scouts can grab a home objective while everyone else goes to play, so that's somethign I would want to try both ways and see which one offers more versatility.

I talked with a friend of mine about the list, he looked at and made similiar suggestions about me not having much anti-tank weaponry.

He also advised to take out 1 assault squad and 1 of my LoTD squads in place of a Terminator Assault Squad w/ Thunderhammer/Storm Shields, since they now get the 3+ invulnerable save. And to take Land Speeder or Land Raider to help with more Anti-tank/vehicle type things.

I guess I was just curious if the LoTD squad was able to hold up to its fluff hype, and actually able to survive and lay down a whithering hail of fire and wade through enemy units when they're needed. I guess against Ork Lootas they get their butts handed to them with ease. That's a real shame.

i would have a 10 man assault squad for shrike can join them and drop both LOD squads get an termy assault squad with a landraider.
