Hey guys I'm still a bit new here at Dakka so don't know who is who, but does anyone know if any of the Ork players that came in the top 6 from Baltimore GT post here?

I'd like to get an idea of what they run with in their armies. I haven't played Orks in almost a decade and sadly I can't buy a win with them in pick up games...

I ran ork nob bikers (with kroot heads) and took best general with this list:
2 x Warboss, bike, klaw, attack squig
14 kommandos, snikrot, 2x burna
2 x 10 Nob, bike, painboy, 2x klaw, 3x big choppa, 3x combi-rokkit, 1x combi-skorcha, waaagh banner, bosspole, ammo runt
14 gretchin

Just out of curiosity did those grots ever do anything besides pass their LD twice and cost me a masacre?

Also the guy who came in 1st's list was around the same as the above nob biker list.

Asking how to run Orks is like walking into a crowd and screaming fire... it only leads to anarchy and suffering.
But here is how I run mine.... As many boys as I can fit, while still getting a KFF mek, Biker boss, and a full sized squad of Snikrot kommando's. If after all that I still have points, I like nobs to support my regular boyz when the assault doesnt go their way. Will also try to swing some TL rokkit Deff Kopta's. But thats just how I take Orks... to be totally honest there are MANY ways to play them with varying, though often great, degrees of success.

i played against a mixed force ork list @ baltimore.

he had
bigmek with kff
lootas
tankhunters
unit of hard boys
3 units of boys.
unit of zap guns

it wasn't a good game for him.
I knew he was in trouble when his first question was what does the "lash" do

Yeah Lash ruins anyones day, lol.

Thanks for input guys, I like the nob biker list...but think I want a bunch more troops, soprolly going with1 Nob Biker squad and a bunch of cheap orks

My guard are playable, thats fine. My orks are black and grey sprue still...

I have re-bought all my old boyz though, so I have the troops to go forward.

I'd check out the Ork Player from BelloflostSouls He placed third and only lost to 1st Place

Yes indeed I have looked at his list, very nice IMO.

I like it more than the dual Nob Bikers mobs, and it gives one a tonne of orks on the table

Any sources for those lists? Never can get ´nuff inspirations.

The gretchin won me 3 out of 5 games by holding objectives or surviving when the nob bikers couldn't. In 2 games they claimed 2 objectives alone far away from the fight, and in our game they survived when nothing else did - yielding a win on KPs. Coming in from reserves after everything is already getting rocked by the bikes was awesome.
