Hi everybody! I wanted to post some pics of my term squad and get some comments on the scheme. My army is painted in alot of grays and reds. My main concern is the amount of red on the models. I want them to look like veterans but I dont want the models to be too "busy" and hodge podge. The first pic is of a tactical marine so you can get a feel for the scheme of my army. Please forgive the quality of the pics, my photoshop program took a dump so these are straight from the camera.

All of the models are magnetized and so have interchangeable weapons. So, what do you guys think: too much red, not enough red or just right? Like I said, still very WIP. All the colors will be shaded extensively on the final product.

i really like it, you have just enough red to look like a detail/ third color and not take away from the grey armor.

but the base needs a tad bit of a yellowish color added, to extenuate the highlights.

Bojangles: you mean add something like golden yellow to my scab red/blood red mix or put some pure yellow details on the lightning claws like numbers/icons etc? I was thinking about putting a yellow-red checker pattern on the lightning claws.....

very clean and good job, i'd say give them a coat of scab red on the L claws and finish the other coat.

break up the red and these would be ace!

I think they look great and you have come up with a very nice crisp clean paint job for these Marines well done.

Thanks for the comments guys. So you all think I should just keep all the red and maybe put a few details on the lightning claws to break it up?

I think the amount of red you have is fine.

I think he means the BASE that the models are standing on rather than BASE COAT. I see the avatar is Marines.. and the detail colors are red/yellow.. nice!

I like everything as the other people have said here, just enough red to pop, and not clutter. well done.

i ment the base coat he starts with, so theres a bit of shading around the fingers and thumb on the lightning claw. like scab rab -> blood red

I so often see models where a good colour scheme is abused by very poor execution.

This is so NOT the case with your work, keep it up.

Wow, these are great marines. I love that scheme, very realistic but still captures the 40k feel. Do you have a name or chapter badge yet?

Nicely done. Simple but effective scheme that is well executed. What color are you going to paint the lightning claws?

They are the Lunar Knights Chapter. I rolled over a ton of different names like: Centurions, Iron Knights, Revenant Knights. I am still kind of partial to Revenant Knights. The final name will be determined once I paint my Chapter Standard

My chapter badge is a custom transfer I purchased off an independent company on the 'net. Once I finish this terminator squad I will do a full army profile. Thanks for the comments guys.
