Ender, I suggest you use a skwish mold copy mold to duplicat ethe shotgun from the scout sprue, otherwise they are hard to come by.
I think there use to be couple of single ones on a necromunda weapons sprue but I don't think that has been available for a really long time.
I have never seen any recipes for making shotguns from other bits or I would share them.
Good luck, and uh, why shotguns?

Omg I love it, is there a WIP on this somewhere? Yes, it does seem somewhat self explanatory but what was put on the top of the lasgun?

I am doing a necromunda gang and i want non traditional looking weapons. One or more guys may be carrying shotguns... the leader certainly will.
I completely forgot about the scout sprue.. they aren't too bad. Though I love the pic posted as well.

Hacking down the Catachan Lasgun looks good too, make the barrel end "joiner," that bracket that wraps around both the barrel and the superfluous gas return tube, the barrel break. I'd put up a picture but I don't have one, and it is such an easy conversion that you really don't need one.
|
Just because anyone agrees with anyone, doesn't mean they are correct. Beware the thin line between what is "Correct" and what is "Popular." |

I'd suggest looking at the muskets and pistols on the Empire Militia from WHFB. I think they can probably be turned into decent break-action shotguns and howdah pistols, which would allow for some neat reloading poses. (If you do find a good way to modify these, let me know. My last few attempts left them still looking too much like flintlocks, and were cut up for other uses.)
Also, Wynnstudio, would you mind posting an image of the other side of that gun? I'm thinking of copying your technique if the musket conversion doesn't work out, and I'd like to see how you made the extra shells attached to the side of the barrel.

Here's a great article from dysartes.com on making shotguns out of cadian lasguns. They are pretty cool.
It inspired me to make these aux grenade launchers:
Also r_h_knight's shotgun also looks good with a drum barrel from the grenade laucher.

I will try to dig up a photo or take a new one. The shells are the ork shell "strips" with the pointed end trimmed flat to look like a shotgun shell.
