Apart from a codex which I can read from a shop, can someone help me out in starting off a daemon army in the best way possible.

This is what I was thinking:

A herald of Khorne
10 Bloodletters.

Is there a way I could accomadate more minis?

Theft.

Theft is the way to get a daemon army for 45$ AUD. Otherwise you're on the right track, buying the highest point value units possible at the lowest prices possible.

or you could try eBay, or try the swap shop and get rid of some of the older stuff that you (might) have in exchange for some daemons stuff. thats how i got about 7k of IG for about $200 US.

Repping is your friend. Buy kits with 20 models and use them as demons.

For example zombies or skaven plague monks as Plaguebearers or chaos Maruaders as Bloodletters.

Inhuman skin tones, horns and other details will help make them look more demonic.

Daemons is a hard one to do on the cheap because so many of the "good" or "cool" models are solid metal and break both the floor and wallet when dropped.

Tyranid, um... spore(?) mines make pretty good Tzeentch Horrors.

Pariah is on the right track. If you can find cheap Battle for MacCragge minis you can do a cheap 'counts as demons' tyranid spore army.

Genestealers=bloodletters
Gaunts=Horrors

and so on.
