This is an idea I just came up with. If anyone has any thoughts or other cool combo's to add please do.

The lord is pretty much a monster killer and will almost certainly die. A lot. But he can crunch whole units by himself and splatter HE dragons.

Except that HE dragons fly, which gives them the mobility advantage. And a bolt thrower skewers him pretty well. While he can theoretically take out a unit, I wouldn't want to test him head on against something that starts with 5 CR!

You also don't have much of an army. Two small warrior blocks, one fast cav, one small knight unit and 3 screens isn't much. Even with the mounted characters and a spawn providing some support. A cannon or two backed up by a few handguns would really ruin your day!

I think you have too many points tied up in characters and walking units. Either go speedy and everything mounted, or down shift and take some marauders to go the infantry route.

Of course he has an advantage of mobility, but if i do fight him i can paste him. And why would the lord be running around where BTs can get at him, he'd get killed before doing any harm. He goes with the knights until i need him to kill something scary. Its just fun, one nasty missile to planet kill or back up another unit. No i wouldnt throw him at a fully ranked unit without back up (but sometimes its worth the risk) any more than i would throw the knights in to one. The army works together.




ive been playing these types of gro-pow armies for years, i think i know how to deal with a cannon and some hand gunners.
Characters not really, since their cost includes a chariot and the daemon sword (worth it). The warriors, again no. I cant imagine taking marauders and not spending even more on my magic phase to make up for the lack of hitty and speedy. As for making it faster, not an option for me personally (i dont have the models) but i cant imagine any army that wouldnt be made better by the addition of more knights.
This was just an idea i had, dont think i need help winning games. Even with a bad army.

I like your build Leith, though it lacks in mobility but you have a pair of strong warriors block with Hero BSB to keep the center of battlefield in your favor, but maybe not for long..

Then again if your lord/knights can come around to lend support(hopefully he's done mass-murdering everything else) your enemy is in for a lot of hurt in the center adding to the fact you have 2 sorcerers to hopefully dwindle their numbers first.

I'd say your deployment is important for this particular list, Refused-Flank deployment comes to mind..I'd like to know how it turns out! (especially that daemon sword,at minimum hitting 5 models at Str4 is awesome!)
