Whirlwind - 85

Kantor drops with one of the Sternguard squads. The scouts without rifles and their sergeant ride in the Storms and deep strike, everything else infiltrates and causes havok where appropriate.

Not certain the Whirlwind's the best option here but I'm not sure what else I could get for 85 points that would do me as well except getting everyone else in the Sternguard squads combi-weapons.

From my experience with Telion he costs more than he is ultimately worth. You could drop him and use free points to upgrade the whirlwind to a Thunderfire Cannon, which is a much better gun in my opinion.

Your math is wrong on those Sternguard units. As posted that unit costs 305pts.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

You could put more bodies in the Telion squad. Say ... five, making a squad of 10. Or 9, if you prefer.

Telion's squad should probably be max size to take advantage of the Eye of Vengeance wound allocation rule. The more hits you can assign to a squad means fewer power fist sergeants to worry about.

Max the telion scout squad and then dont take a thunderfire.

Ghostmaker, I'm confused on that last line.

I'd be willing to look at a Thunderfire, except that they can't fire indirect and I don't really understand how enemy shooting at them works - the only statline I see for them is the Techmarine.

Arbalest - Read the rules properly. The eye of vengenance only allows for wounds telions shooting attacks cause. Even if you throw a scout rocket lauching wound at squad (using telions voice of guidence ability, its not His shooting attack. Turn ur 2nd scout squad into a 5man w/ pwr fist.

Max out telions squad to make point use of his stealth ability (it gives you the equivelent of the 3point per model camo cloak) Turn ur 2nd scout squad into a 5man w/ pwr fist.

annd why not get the cluster mines. 10pts is worth that amusement.
