A simple question for you folks. I'm considering a conversion in the future with a biggerized Chaos Termi lord, and I've been searching around for suitable heads to swap in. Looking at the Privateer Press bits sections I've noticed that the Cryx Leviathan Head looks suitable for what I have in mind, but having never actually seen the model in person I don't know whether it would look oversized or not. Anyone have any experience with these two models and could tell me how they match up?

OK I can't figure out how to post the picture, so here is the link to my photo-dump:

I don't have a Leviathan, but the photo is a CSM Terminator Lord next to my Cryx Slayer (to at least get you in the ballpark). The Slayer head would be a bit large, but maybe the Levi is a different size.

Thanks Malfred. It looks like the Slayer head is a good bit too big. The Leviathan Head probably isn't much smaller. I'll probably just look around the bits site for some more likely bits.

Edit: Now that I think about it, isn't the Teraph a light warbeast, as in smaller? It has a compact version of the Carnivean head;that might fit.

the Teraph is smaller but still a lot bigger than a termy. Not sure about individual components.

Most Warmachine stuff seems about 32-35mm heroic (compared to GW 30mm heroic). that only really helps with human sized stuff though.

The teraph head is prbably also a bit big for a terminator.

Bits I would suggest that are about the right scale:
CRYX, undeadish and skully
-either of the Asphyxious heads, Epic or Prime
-Stalker bonejack head, body come in a bit and is realatively small
-Bane Kight heads are not bad and can be bought as bits
-Bane Lord Tartarus' Head

LEGION OF EVERBLIGHT, monsterous and mutated
-Incubi Head, long neck, no eyes and toothy
-Teraph head, comes in two parts, might be big

MISC
- Tyrant Xerxis head, depends on what you like.
-Tharn Ravager Beast Lord head

Thats about all I have. Here's the link to the

I believe the bloat thrall is a one piece model, or at least, its head is a part of the body.

The body of the Bloat Thrall is two (very solid) pieces, with a disc and spider legs for the bottom.

I'd say that infantry and smaller solos/warbeasts would be the best bet for matching size.

WM/H is 30mm, GW is 28mm "Heroic"

I'm not looking for "skull" heads so much as I'm looking for a sort of predatory, alien feel for a head. I'm sure I can make one myself but something that would save me the trouble would be great.

am pretty sure GW minis are no longer 28mm, heroic or otherwise,

A couple of my Croe's Cutthroats have Bettonian Peasant heads. While Croe's are taller than Pesants their heads are about the same size. I'm not sure if this helps you.

The Teraph head is not separate, and is still pretty sizable. Too big for a Terminator. Dreadnought maybe, but not a Termie.

A Nephilim head might work, but is probably too big as well. I'll post a comparison when I get home from work this afternoon.

GW still claims them as such, no matter how much we measure or have differing opinions.

different platform but I use 20 nyss hunters as Dark Elf Shades with great weapons. Just use the warhammer/40k bases and I dont see where any gripes should come into play. Official tournament setting it wont pass but meh.

WM is really a range though. They have scale issues. Some items like the Cygnar mages are almost true 28mm (not "heroic" with the oversized bits). While others are much larger than 30mm. Unit wise all troopers are usually the exact same height and scale, but across armies it really fluctuates. Once I made an army of Trenchers, Long Gunners, and gunmages, and when I finally got them all assembled I realized they were all different proportions and scales and it drove me nuts. I never finished my Cygnar army.

Ever consider anything from any of the reaper lines?
http://www.reapermini.com/
Alot of their stuff can work well in either WHF or WH40K, specifically chaeck out the Warlord stuff for good head swaps.
