So I'm about to start up converting my own Valkia the Bloody model just for fun, and I realize as I'm reading her rules....What sized base does she go on? My best assumption is just a basic 25mm since shes just a basic 3 wound, US1 lord choice. I will admit I'm half asking just because I want someone to come up with a reasonable explanation for a bigger base cause it'll help my balance issue problems I know I'm going to have

While she might seem like a Daemon Prince she actually is just a highly mutated Chaos Lord. So I would be in a agreement that she goes on a 25mm base

25mm seems right. If the book actually gave her a Unit Strength it'd be more obvious.

And some other assets too ............................................... like that sweet "break test reroll" if you're "within 12 inches"

I say 25mm too.

You should probably go with 25mm, but you could make her ogre size on a 40mm since she is pretty hard to hit.

Since I mainly asked because I'm trying to get an easy way out of balance issues upon making the model, I think I'm going to model both 25 and 40 or 50 bases for her and just make it interchangable for display and such. Ass son as I get all the parts I need (anyone have a death cult assassin body up for grabs?) I'll start a log of it!

Most tournaments allow bigger bases if there's no advantage to it. But they don't allow smaller ones! For this, and the fact wings never fit on a 25mm, I went with 40mm for my conversion (pictured below.) We'll probably never know for sure ...

Ultimately, you do what you think is best.

Cool conversion! Care to give some more details, such as where the component parts came from? A thread in Modeling would be really cool too if you had the time.

Here's how I did it.
Sisters of Sigmar head: (Decapitated a member of my Mordheim gang to get it.)
Beast Herd Gor horns: (Ram style, upside down and cut about 2/3rds in.)
Forgeworld Brass-etched Khorne symbol: (The smallest one right in the middle of the forehead between the horns -- there's two, one as a place holder and painted over, a second right on top for a nice shiny effect. Two of the third smallest on the sprue were used as thigh plates.
Witch Elf Body: Sigh. Just couldn't avoid it for that armored look. Cut off the weapons, the head and the feet. Cut the waist in half and re-positioned it.
Ungor legs: Cut off above the knee and added where the witch elf feet were.
Chaos Shield: Took one with a demon face and added three layers of green stuff to sculpt it. The horns are more gor horns, I took the set with both goat and ram horns, used the ram horns and cut off one of the goat horns for the tongue.
Chaos Lance: From the knights two generations ago. Cut off the tip for the tip of the spear.
Gargoyle Wings: Yup. Tyranids. Cut off the horns atop and replaced them with the tips of a beast herd banner.
Castle wall and bits: From various sources and the 40K box of 4th Ed. Some spikes from a bannertop for the backs of the calves. Two skulls from a vehicle chaos sprue filed down a lot for the bandolier on her back.
Lots of green stuff: Smoothing out the joints and the occasional bit of armor and adding muscle to the wings.

The sink.

I really think she needs to go on a bigger base like a regular demon prince. It's not in her rules ... but a smaller base just doesn't seem right.

And how will you get wings on a base that small anyways?

I really like the Valkia conversion Khornesone really nicely done. I going to do my own eventually.

I think she’s supposed to go on a 25mm square, as she’s really a flying chaos lord, not a daemon prince. As far as wings go, my best recommendation (and my plan if I eventually convert one) will to have her standing/landing on/launching off of a pillar or crag or something; or maybe mounted on a flying stand pillar, so she’s elevated.

That's a nice Valkia Khornesone , probably the best one I've seen yet.

I'm working on my balance issues, I think I'm goingt o have her interchangable between a 50mm base (easier to rank up in WOC), and a 25mm for when it's absolutely needed.

as soon as I get the last piece I need I'll throw some pics up
