Where can I get Necromunda mini equivalents? I'm looking for Scavvys specifically. I am an okay converter, but not great at sculpting, so I really just need the minis, not necessarily the proper weapons. I looked in the online GW store and I found a few possibilitys, but I would pay $40 for 8 scavvys under any circumstances.

Links would be great, preferably US stores but I can deal with the exchange too.

I've ruled out Pig Iron productions and Reaper.

Both are kinda pricey, but very cool.

Agreed, very cool. I like the mutant look a lot but need less mutated and more rough and tumble (if that makes any sense).
I know enough about GS to make two pieces look like they belong together, but not enough to sculpt heavily. Making mutations such as scales and extra limbs won't be be a problem between my bitz box and basic GSing, but I need a good looking base model. I'll probably end up ordering bitz in order to equip my gang completely, but that's the price you pay.

For the GW fringe games I tend to use miniatures from their main lines and convert them.

For instance, my Mordheim Pitfighters warband uses WHFB Chaos Marauders as a base while my Gorkamorka Digga mob is made up of plastic Catachans.

Scavvies might be a bit more difficult but my mind is immediately drawn to the VC Zombie box. Maybe even the VC Coprse Cart for more up-to-date zombie like sculpts.

Are the Gw scavvy miniatures too expensive then?

Copplestone has a line of scavengers

http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/

I think the warstore has them.

But they're smaller than GW and will not mix will.

You might also try using the Empire Flaggellents as a base and convert from there.

I'll most likely end up using WHFB Zombies and IG.

Yeah, and I try to avoid using pewter minis as abase for conversions. Personal taste, I guess.

That makes sense. Personal taste is always a good reason. I was just curious, that's all.

Just a note, in case you didn't know, but there's some minor scale problems with this combo. The zombie heads and hands are grossly overscale, doubly so when compared with the plastic IG that came out a decade later.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

The zombies would be for ghouls and plague zombies, so it shouldn't be to much of a problem but I can always get a box of catachans if the zombies really don't work out.

Yeah, I'd go with the EM4 stuff too.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

The EM4 stuff is an older version of the Copplestone stuff. So they mix with Copplestone well.

As someone who has put together over 90 mutants using Catachan, Zombie, Ork and Marauder bits - and even some leftover Necromunda plastics - I can see that the scale problem isn't a problem. Everything is so random that it just fits, and you can use all the extra bitz and piece that you get on the sprues to cover any major gaps.

I thought the EM-4 stuff looked familiar.

I've got some of those dating back a while (still blistered).

Thanks again, K_K.
