Ok, Im not good with real time and history so I might be pretty bad here but....

So right now in the 40k universe, humanity is getting torn up from the floor up. The 13th black crusaide has destroyed cadia, The orks are back at armaggedon for there third WAGGH or however you spell it, the tau are pressing at the imperiums borders, the nids are coming outta nowhere and doing there thing.. which is killing everyone in there way, and the eldar and dark eldar are... well there doing something Im gonna assume, and the Necrons are doing some whicked stuff to.

Is all this right? Cause my question kinda hinges on it being almost right

So Abaddon is making a B line to Terra to finish what Horus started, The cypher is heading to terra to do something either good or bad, The Orks are pushing in which is sucking up the bulk of the imperiums forces around that area. And with all the other races picking on humanity... Whats gonna happen next? Would it be that impossible for them to bring the Emperor back? I mean his chairs broke.. could they bring him back? Could they bring a primarch back to do battle with Abaddon.. maybe create a more stable imperium.. that could be a major seller.. Chaos conquers a large chunk of the imperiums stuff and some primarch comes back and rallys humanity under the emperor or his name and we got a huge civil war going on, GW could really milk it and make all sorts of stuff for that.. and it would really be a good story arch.

Probably nothing. 40K is a setting, not a storyline.

From what I've heard, the Emperor's chair eventually shuts down, finally killing him. When that happens, Daemons will spill into all the human worlds and wreak havoc. The Imperium is in for worlds of hurt (c wut i did ther?), until the Starchild appears. The Starchild is none-other than the Emperor reborn, and he will lead the Imperium to salvation. Not sure what's gonna happen after that. Maybe the C'Tan will turn off the Warp, effectively removing the threat of Chaos in all it's forms. But that wouldn't sell much, would it?

in all honesty fluff wise or not, GW would be silly to completely kill off a selling army. although the emperor being reborn would be awesome fluff wise, and what your saying about lost legions and primarchs fighting stupid abbaadooddooo would be pretty sweet

I thought maybe this would be a great way to introduce one of the two missing legions but towards the end of mechanicum.. Dorns talking about Horus and says he would rather have 15 legions instead of 13 to face horus.. and the Malacodor guy says "dont even joke about it cause those two are lost to us forever, Im just guessing he means the two missing legions.. which means they were destroyed during the great crusaide at some point.. maybe during the Ullanor thing (Im talking about the final war the emperor pertisipated in).

Or from another viewpoint:
• The final big push of Chaos, the ten thousand year culmination in their overarching drive, has stalled out. Billions of troops and hundreds of warships are now moving towards the Cadian gate. Although it may take a decade to build their forces, the Imperium finally has the chaos renegades where they want them, out in real space where they can be caught and obliterating by the tsunami of the Imperial war machine. The High Lords of Terra have waited ten thousand years for their retribution to finally repay the traitors for their treachery, and it will be massive.
• Once complete they will deal with those who have thought to dominate humanity in its last death throws. The second Great Crusade will turn its attention to the few tomb worlds of the Necrons that remain and splinter fleets of the tyranids. The ork will be driven before the might of the new legions, and the existence of the Tau will be at an end.
• With the final failure of the Golden Throne, Humanity will at last be free to chart a new course. The Dawn of a new Age of Man approaches. But first through the forging fires to reach that new golden time.

Your forgetting one thing.......this is the 41st millenium and there is only war!

Well not all the traitors are at the cadian gate, the black legion, and a few allied warbands, the iron warriors have made a fortress on a world and refuse to leave, and if any primarchs do come back, i think it would get the traitor primarchs to leave there throne and lead there forces by thereselves finaly.

One world is irrelevant and will soon be bombed. CHaos is doomed DOOOOMED I tells ya!

Paa you cant bomb the iron warriors, they got blockades, planetry defences, a ship wouldnt get close enough to bomb it.

After the Imperial Navy clears the road, the only thing left of the name Iron Warriors will be "wa?"
