“HIT’EM ARD EN FAST!”

I've always wanted to do an army using the Ork codex I'm growing so tired of shooty based armies. Plus I'm thinking of using a feral human like theme for the army: http://proiteus.deviantart.com/art/Feral-Human-Models-THE-KROGGS-104379018 But I talk about that on another thread.

HQ
115 – Big Mek Grunslik:
with Kustom Force Field, Power Klaw, Shoota and Eavy Armour.

100 – Warboss Groor: Power Klaw, Eavy Armour and Cybork Bits.

TROOPS
234 – Ard Boyz Squad:
17 Boyz with Choppas & Sluggas, 1 Nob with Power Klaw and Bosspole. (Mounted In Battlewagon with Warboss)

169 - Boyz Squad: 18 Boyz with Choppas & Sluggas, 1 Nob with Power Klaw, Eavy Armour and Boss pole. (Mounted In Battlewagon with Mek)

117 - Boyz Squad: 11 Boyz with Choppas & Sluggas, 1 Nob with, Eavy Armour and Bosspole.
60 - Trukk: Rokkit Launcher, Armor Plates, Stikkbomb Launcha and Reinforced Ram.

FAST ATTACK
70 – 2 Rokkit Buggies

HEAVY SUPPORT
140 – Battlewagon:
Deathrolla, 2 Big Shootas, Red Paint Job, Grot Riggers, Armor Plates and Stikkbomb Chukka.

140 – Battlewagon: Death Rolla, 2 Big Shootas, Red Paint Job, Grot Riggers, Armor Plates and Stikkbomb Chukka.

Total Pts: 1499
Total No: 76 ( 7 )
Total Kill Pts: 12

Tactics

The Battlewagons are the centre of my tactics they move alongside each other allowing for both to have a 4+ save from the Mek and creating a 12 wide deathrolla. After hitting the enemy with the Deathrollas the 2 Ork squads leap out and mop up what’s left.
The 3 trukk mounted squads will either support the Battlewagons or go for objective depending on the mission; the trukks may also be used for tank hunting as a reinforced ram for 5pts is a bargain.
The Buggies we tank hunt using terrain or if possible stay close to the Battlewagon containing the Mek to get the 4+ save from the Kustom Force Field.

Any suggestions then this is my first ork list and I’m looking for any good feedback?

shouldn't the big mek get a bike or something to keep up bit the bws?

first observation; i like what u're trying to do. i've been tinkering with a list like this myself.
allright here we go:
- give the warboss an attack squig as well
- drop the rokkit launcher, armour plates and stikkbomb launcha, in my opinion they"re really not worth it. if you drop these things on the three trukks, you can perhaps replace one boyz squad with a squad of Nobz with a painboy (just an idea, it's what i would do)
-another thing thats perhaps interesting is replacing the slugga/choppa on the boyz the mek will join by shootas. this way you have a mobile fire base protected by battlewagon armour and a KFF. because if you're mek ever gets out and in combat, he"ll most likely get targeted.
-i would also drop the red paint job and armor plates on the battlewagons, again saving some points.

i hope i've been helpfull.

Drop the stikbomb chukka not worth it. The buggies may need to be at least three otherwise they run away pretty quick, but they do tank hunt pretty well. Remember a boss with a PK is your best anti - tank weapon though.

Frankly ten boyz in a truck don't survive, people just whistle at them and they run away even with a bp.

looking forward to seeing the revisions.

Still I am really digging the idea, and will be making much the same with bikers instead of boyz in truck to grab objectives etc.

BTW Ork Trukks can't Ram as they are not a tank. I know this sounds stupid, but there it is, they can only 'tank shock' which I've found pretty worthless. Empty tukks however do make good screens for you to bring up the rest of the boyz.

Sadly I can't take Grots, Painboyz or Lootz because of my feral human theme: http://proiteus.deviantart.com/art/Feral-Human-Models-THE-KROGGS-104379018 It's not possible for a human to survive 'assistance' from a painboy no matter how tough he is. Lootz cause there is no way a man could support such a weapon on his shoulders and grots because humans don't have grots plus it would add confusion.

The KFF does still work then the Mek is inside a vehicle. In fact, it works better, since you measure from the hull of said vehicle.

Who said the Deffguns had to be giant and shoulder-mounted? In the end, Deffguns are just a whole bunch of looted weapons slapped together, so you can do that with yer humies, just not as many weapons

Where does it say that? Just in case I have a fussy opponent?

Although it doesn't say so in the codex, it's because the Mek's base becomes that of the vehicle he's inside, and a vehicle's base is it's hull. So you'd be measuring from the hull since you measure from his base when he's on foot.
