I have finally (after about a year) sat down and started to finish one of my MANY on-going projects. Here is my first squad (all most finished just some minor highlighting and gem work to do).....dreaded Rangers. Really fun to paint, not sure how much game play they will get though. At least it was a nice stepping stone for me to kick start my painting juices.

Comments please.

amazing color choice and painting! i perfer yours over GW's original color for sure.

if i may suggest something, the brown boot high light is great, but there is too much sudden brown mass concentrated at that one boot. if there is one last final high light on the boot with a lighter shade to almost yellow, it'll help tie in the yellow from your helmet face plate , ammo holder, and shoulder pad.

keep up the good work!, this is by far my favorite eldar ranger i have seen.

Your painting style is great. Much like seeing a 2D painting come to life. I would absolutely love to see these in person.

Don't let anyone tell you any crap about blending your highlights more! That would ruin your very painterly style, and make me very sad.

Thanks for the comments.....I just primed up 10 Dire Avengers and will be working on them hard over the next week....pics will come....I have a 1500 point army in the works and a deadline of April 18th. That may seem like a lot of time, but I procrastinate and get easily distracted....so let's just see if I can keep said deadline...

I'm kind of stuck on the Dire Avengers....I have a base coat no problem....but i'm unsure of a color to go on their plumes....was thinking red....but with all the gems on the DA I think it might overpower the model....i'll probably settle on a slight drybrush of grey....he's a little glimpse at the basecoated Exarch.

I love the pathfinders, very well painted, although I am not sure how I feel about the black boot tips.

As for the DA the paintings great, but the pose looks kind of funny. Like hes pretending to be Jesus...

Lol!! Didn't notice that....I guess it looks different in the picture....when I get him finished i'll post some pics from different angles....I do agree with the black boot tops, I really didn't do too much with them....not sure if I lost focus or just didn't get around to put a couple of highlight lines on them....

hmm right now it looks like dark gray almost black with minimum white.

what i had pictured was space wolf grey as the darkest part of the plum into white.

I think the DA's plume needs to be yellow to match the rest of his armor. Good job on the painting, it looks GREAT!

Lovely, lovely work. I agree with the trinary breakup of the weapons and plume- those being the neutralish gray keeps the eye focused on the center of the model.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!
