Hello,
I've been reading all the opinions on the new SM codex
and was wondering this.Is the consensus that SMs have
been powered up? If so do you think that all the other
armies will get the same treatment? If so,what do you think
it means for 40k the rules and the storyline?

Space Marines powered up? Maybe complaints about SM were "powered up" before the codex was out. Now there is silence.......

In general the codex will show how the following codices may look. I'm not sure if GW stays with the SC=>rules=>units theme.
I don't like the concept of "thumb through forward-reverse-and again" to find the complete rules/stats/options of c: SM and the
reference to the BRB seems to be inserted for later changes, when a quote in the codex would not need more space to write.
The reduction of the Legions history may also be copied in the codices to follow ( HH non-existant, concentration on M42).

Size and design will be an example of the future (but i hope the quality authors rises soon).
The return of older configs and new stuff as in C: SM would be a "briht future" for some codices.

40k's codex/race with the bright future will be the (kr)ork :S

We were wrong. It's not the 40k End Times. It's the Trademarkening.

They powered up a bit.
New useful units, combat tactics, and new upgrades make SM more attractive to play.

Well I am still a little soar about loosing True Grit :(

Cheaper Tactical squads, some cool new units, annoying scouts, free frag/krak/pistols, ect. SM did get better.

But damn I loved my True Grit :(
