I do not think that the 2007 FAQ applies since there is no access to it anymore on an official website featuring Gothic.

I think the FLEET LISTS, all three of the current ones online, supercede for a cost of the Emperor at 345pts.

I have never failed to seize on 4+ in my life!

I think that the 2007 FAQs 'should' be used, but if they are not on any official websites then people shouldn't be penalised for turning up with 345pt Emps in their lists. As you point out, in the BBB and the Armada book, there are two different point costs, so one has to be a mistake/wrong. The logical choice would be to go with the one that is constantly repeated across both books in multiple places, ie 345 in the fleet lists. Without the FAQs, it just looks like the 365 is a misprint on one page.

[bleeding obvious]The best course of action would be to contact the TO. [/bleeding obvious] Speaking as a total tournament noob, I would be most upset to turn up at a tournament and find that although I have bought/downloaded all the official rules I could find, there are these 'extra' rules floating about that only longer time players know about and have access, that invalidate my list.

I've got the .pdf dated 8/31/2007 named 5BFGShipsofGothic which I got from the SG site. It lists, in the Ship Section that the Retribution is 365 and the Emperor is 345.

This is repeated in the Fleet List, same costs.

I can send you this .pdf if it helps any.

[edit] And all of this is really a shame. BFG is one of the better GW games, and with all the FAQs and clarifications (which I never thought it needed), its become a shambles.

Where can I get the FAQ's and clarifications? I can't seem to find any on the GW site. (Maybe I'm just blind)

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

Man, I really haven't played this in awhile. Have there been any rules changes, or is it just point costs that have changed?

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Black klibrary made the uncharacteristically farsighted decision to just swap over the stats for the Emperor and Retribution. this means lists with both are not affected in points cost.

Emperor now costs 365pts
Retribution now costs 345pts
Sharks still cost 5pts extra.

These points costs are fair, the Emperor is one of the best buys in the Imperial arsenal and is worth every penny of the 370pts.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
