A couple friends and I have been looking into getting into Necromunda, now we like how the looks of the gangs for the most part. The thing that some of us want to do through is get a model or two that would really make a stand out Gang Leader. Personally, I don't care much for the leader models and would just use those as an other Ganger or Heavy. Now we don't care about the WYSIWYG rule (A min of time explaining whats different is better than spending $50 imo), so that is not an issue at all.

Now, I notice that the models are 28mm base so I been looking around for some sci fi themed models and not having too much luck. The best I could find are models from the Anima Tactics game, which while really cool looking, they don't really fit into the Necromunda theme for the most part. Does anything know of any sites that sell 28mm or other models that fit into the Necromunda world nicely?

I think it rather depends on what gangs you're talking about in particular.

I know of some non-GW 28mm figures that work perfectly as delaques (if thats what you're after, I'll find the link...).

I take it that you're not interested in converting your own leaders from the GW line?

Yeah I guess it was a little silly to ask for models and then not say what gang I was interested in...

Anyways, I been mostly looking into the Delaque. But also interested in Escher or Goliath.
As for converting, I would prefer to stay away from that but its always an option.

IG Catachan's work quite nicely - as a base for either the Delaques or Goliaths.

For the Delaques you would just have to model some trench-coats.

Escher is more difficult - WH SOB Repentia could work

Reaper chronoscope - there are a couple of suitable escher style minis here, and you can also see some of these in Xanthos' =I=munda thread: http://www.thewarstore.com/ReaperChronoscope.html

Heresy - scroll down a bit and you'll find a coupleof awesome models that would make perfect character pieces in a delaque gang: http://www.heresyminiatures.com/pre-order.htm

As for Goliaths, I'm looking to kitbash some Goliath style minis from the catachan, marauder and marauder horsemen (for the heads) sprues.

I've also seens ome great Escher done using the plastic daemonette kit, though there is probably more GS and conversion work involved than you're looking to do. Cant remember the link though, so if anyone else knows the ones I'm talking about (the gang members are all named after colours) please feel free to jump in with the link.

Escher could be made by converting Daemonettes, Wood Elves, High Elves, Dark Elves, Dark Eldar, Calidus Assassins, Sister Repentias.

Chaos Marauders and Catachans would be good for Goliaths. Give them some weapons and you're set.

Orlocks could be made from...ermm for some reason I can't be help to see the Brettonian Men-At-Arms as a cool basis for them. See it a sort of "re-design", they are after all the "house of Iron" and well, the sort of medieval vibe would be cool for them!

Just an other quick question then, I noticing quick a few Game Workshop suggestions and I was under the impression that the Necromunda models were a larger scale than the standard Warhammer type. Is this not the case or is the difference so small its hard to notice?

Nope, they are the same scale as WFB and 40k models. I think you are confused with Inquisitor here which has 54mm models rather than the normal 28mm.
