I think it all looks great. I think you painted the camo really well, also the bases work well with the leaves. Good luck with the rest of your army. Incidentally, where do you get your models from?

dude they are awesome, i'm a military history student and i think you have nailed the German uniforms perfectly as i'm assuming these guys are SS are you going to be doing any regular army in the field grey or are you sticking entirely with the SS?
Russians look good too, not as partial to them as the Germans the Infantry i like alot, unfortunatly because of Soviet vehicles schemes their isn't much you can do with them, from a technical perspecitive they look awesome but the colour scheme seems a little flat, but thats not your problem at all its historys.
That being said if I keep seeing stuff like this I might be convinced to start playing a WW2 minatures game your stuff is truely inspiring.

No Wehrmatch, only SS, I don't fancy field grey for a whole squad as it would look pretty dull. While the late war army had camo, the pattern used would be extremely complicated to paint and look good.
Also the SS have higher morale which is very important in these rules.

Did you check out the German faction by Darkson Designs' AE-WWII? You might like the German Troopers, Greatcoats and Sniper.
You might also wanna check out the Soviet stuff by them!
I dunno...maybe you'll like them!

I know what you mean, which is why I suggested the "normal" German troops and sniper and the Russian infantry and not the rest of the sci fi stuff.

German Sniper, with some minor conversion work he would look fitting.
German Troopers either give them different heads or keep them as they are.
Greatcoats
Soviet Guard
Soviet Mortar
Soviet anti-tank rifle

with regards to higher morale i can understand, i've always perferred standard Wehrmatch to the SS as i have never quite understood the fascination alot of players of these games hold for the SS troops (personally i don't like this wierd fascination) , i think i see one of the reasons now
Field Grey being dull totally agree, evocative however totally.
Still keep plugging away can't wait to see more,
Also as a side note, know a good site that stocks British Minatures i might be tempted if so

Good looking models.
I've been wanting to do a WW II themed imperial guard army for a while, and this is great inspiration.

Decent stuff! I think the Infantry is superb - splendid execution of the camo, while some of the tanks don't quite achieve the right material feel/ level of weathering and feel of weight. I think the washing could be more subtle and definitely reapplied after adding the decals.
Really nice to see some stuff like this here for a change. Yesterday I ordered some 1/72 modern infantry and humwees for my next project actually.

They are heavily modified Warhammer rules and rely on activating units rather than moving your whole force in a single go. Shooting is also emphasized heavily over close combat (if you dont wipe your opponent out in the first charge he can turn around and unload at you point blank so you have to be damn sure you're going to be successful).
Morale also plays a much bigger factor and tanks, while powerful, don't dominate the battlefield in the same sense that they do in warhammer. If you want, send me your email and I'll send you a zip of both the panzer battles and WWW2 rulesets and army lists!
.

well you are in luck
Bolt action minis does a huge british range
as does artizan
stay away from black tree design - they're awful
Great looking you got the scheme done very well

nah, West Wind are extremely average in their quality...as said they are artizan and Bolt Action Miniatures

They were copied out of an Osprey book so what can I tell ya? Not all tanks are equal in their shinyness, some are straight off the factory floor, some have been in the field for months

These are really good, crisp and the camo has been very faithfully recreated, the slightly different uniform colours used on the soviets to help to add to the realism.
The only problem is the more i see of WW2 28mm the more i am tempted to give it a try, after all ever tried to paint oakleaf onto a 1/72 minature, been the bain of my wargaming for years.
But really good work, my only thing would be that the panther seems slightly worn which is cool, while the soviet tanks look a little to crisp, perhaps some mud / weather / general chips etc

Thanks, I gotta say it is alot more rewarding to pull of a faithful looking historic than a warham, but thats just a personal thing.
As for the difference between the Soviet and German Vehicles - its deliberate, helps emphasized the mass produced nature of the Soviet war machine

And they could also play as guardsman if you ever wanted to play 40K - would be great to see these guys front up against a horde of demons!

I'm not sure how well plonking these guys down in a 40k game would go over, theres a born-again Zionist at my nearby club who takes himself way too serious.
