I'm bored, and can't sleep, and all these "bsetest unet in the game!!!" threads got me wondering just how stupid broken you could make a squad given infinite points...
So here's the challenge:
-There are no FoC restrictions, and no maximum point limit.
-Models may be from any army you choose
-This unit will be fielded within a regular Dark Angels Land Raider (so transport capacity 10, terminators count as 2 models).
-All models must be able to board said land raider, so no MCs, no jump infantry, and no models that be fielded in a transport

My contribution:
DA: Azrael (225)
4(5) attacks at s6. 2+ save, gives entire unit 4++ invul
1 space (9 left)
SM: Pedro Kantor (175)
3 attacks at s 8
gives all members of his unit +1 attack
1 space (8 left)
SM: Kor'sarro Khan (160)
4 attacks
6's cause instant death
gives entire unit furious charge (+1 I, +1 S on the charge)
1 space (7 left)
GK: Grand Master (210)
mast-crafted, annointed NFW
bionics
Psychic powers: Hammer Hand (makes him S10 if I'm not mistaken since it doubles s4 to s8, +2 for NFW to s10)
Sacred Incense
insta-gib force weapon, s10 with hammerhand, a fair bit of a beast no matter what
2 spaces (5 left)
BT: Marshall (180)
Artificer armour
Lightning claws
Terminator Honours
Adamantine Mantle
5 attacks, immune to instant death
1 space (4 left)
SM: Chaplain Cassius (125)
t6, 2 (3) attacks, FNP, allows entire squad to reroll on the charge ( DA/ BT chaplains don't let you do this for such a wierd mixed squad , so it's gotta be this guy).
1 space (3 left)
SM: Honour Guard (240)
3 guys
All with relic blades, auxilliary grenade launchers
champion has digital lasers
1 guy is carrying chapter banner (+1 attack, +1 to combat resolution)
another 7 s6 attacks from this squad.
3 spaces (0 left)
------
Full Tally:
1315 points
Attacks:
S8: 3 (kantor) +1 (kantor bubble) +1 (banner)=5
s6: 5 (azrael) + 4 ( GKGM) + 7 ( HG) +5 (kantor bubble) + 5(banner) = 26
s4: 4 (khan) + 5 (marshall) + 3 (cassius) + 3 (bubble) +3 (banner) = 18
That's a total of 49 attacks, or 58 on the charge (at s9, s7, and s5,and mostly at I 6 as well). On the charge all of those attacks also reroll to hit (many twice due to master crafting)
Also, due to Azrael they all have a 4+ ward save, while most have 2+ saves to begin with.
...there we go, that entertained me for an hour

No FOC? ok SM >Command Squad Lightning Claw + stom shield + Comany Champion >Chaplin Cassius (toughness 6 isn't enough you're rerolling to hits on the charge) >Kor'sarro Khan for the furious charge and hit and run(no bike =P) and fill up the last 3 spaces with Masters of the Forges with powerswords (3 attacks with a power weapon followed by 2 powerfists is fun) edit ...wait if you just take normal tecmarines thats is legal on a FOC ...

Eldrad (for fortune and doom)
Kharn (for unlashability)
Azrael (4+ invul)
Pedro Kantor (+1 attacks)
Kor'sarro Kahn (furious charge)
Mad Doc Grotsnik (Feel No Pain)
Chaplain Cassius (for rerolls on the charge)
Lysander (for s10 strength attacks)
Necron Lord w/Warscythe, Veil of Darkness, Gaze of Flame, Phylactery, Chronometon (for warscything vehicles, teleporting with Gaze)
The only thing I'm nervous about is Grotsnik's rule messing you up, but FNP is totally worth it.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

Careful there, a lot of the eldar powers (or at least fortune and guide) only work on eldar units and this conglomeration clearly isn't an eldar unit. However, you are still free to doom, mind war, and eldrich storm to your heart's content.

Hammerhand only affects base strength, and can't be combined with any kind of weapon. That said, I think this one is the clear winner, as they are all spacemarines... If you can take non SMurfs in the landraider, Swap out the 3 honor guard for the necron lord, tigurus (for gate and whatnot), and maddoc grotsnik.

You only get one reroll, maximum, ever.
You can't reroll rerolls.
Still a hefty unit (and, at least, you kept them within the same army[ish], as they're all types of SM).

Ya I figured something like that. Didn't feel like sifting through the rulebook to check that one out though.
They're also from every codex that I have access to I don't play any non-marine armies, so I wouldn't know who to grab. Necron lords seems like a pretty good fit in there though lol. The honour guard are in there for their +1 attack banner (plus with azrael's invul they're a pretty force themselves).

Pedro and a 10-man squad of Honour Guard with Relic Blades and a Libby with Force Dome and Null field.
41 Str6 attacks + 5 Pedro PF attacks + 4 force weapons from the libby. Heck, if we're going really crazy, add Kor'sarro Khan to this and those attacks are all at Init 5 with Furious charge and hit-n-run. Plus the Libby gives a 5+ invuln to the unit and forces all units to re-roll all successful invuln saves and since those relic blades are power weapons, even those storm shields aren't very helpful. Or don't include Pedro in the LR and add a chapter banner for the +1 attack, then toss in a chaplain to re-roll to-hits.

ah, but you went over the 10 man limit Remember this is a gimpy DA land raider you're filling.
Azrael also gives a better invul than the librarian does (and even more s6 attacks!), though null zone can be pretty deadly too...

Epic Fail.
Your Warbosses get charged and, before they get their (INITIATIVE 1) attacks, they're all dead to power weapon wounds.

I would take my unit against your unit any day. Every model has a 4+ invul, two are immune to instant death, and 26 strength 7 relic blade attacks, and 18 powerweapon/lightning claw attacks that reroll misses would shred your 10 warbosses before they could even attack.
Besides, why you going for just warbosses when you can take special characters as well?

Kantor bubble doesn't stack with chapter banner IIRC

A few warbosses in there would be pretty sick too though. I'd probably swap warbosses out for calgar and lysander (no termy armour means they only count as 1 model each right?). And yes, this thread is to serious tactica as McDonalds is to actual food, though it's great fun seeing what you can do with a unit if point value is no longer a restraining factor
Also gak lol. I failboat at reading, didn't see that Kantor's bonus specifically states that it doesn't stack with the chapter banner's. Oh well, eliminates the reason for taking the HG then. Replace those three buggers with some warbosses and kharne. Does Ahrimann have any powers that could help out the entire unit?

People probably think " LR? oh well that means only SM"
But ya, so long as it isn't an MC there's no reason to think otherwise. I would consider any model on a terminator-sized base from a codex sans transports to be terminator size though, and take up two spaces...
