Hey guys, I have this idea of converting a bunch of cadian models into an armoured fist that look more like the steel legion stuff because I find steel legion metal models are smaller than the plastic kits. And for the celebration of the Playstation 3 game Killzone 2 (bit off topic ) which I have pre-ordered, I have decided to do a conversion based on the Helghast because they have cool gas masks and bullpup weapons like the Elysian drop troops! So here are some experiments. Comments, advice and stuff would be helpful and also ideas and previously done models would be an alright inspiration as well. Here they are:

mouth is drilled out (ouch) and guartar string is added as breathing tube

After failed coat is added and bolt pistol swapped with las pistol

I like the gas mask work, but the long coat looks very, uh, skirt like.

Of course, the answer to that is to paint'em plaid and call them kilts.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

Pretty nice idea. Maybe use just one flamer tank and put it on horizontally?

Yeah the extended trench coats weren't really nessesary so I might pull the gree stuff off it was just cool at the time, and I have ideas of using these as oxygen tanks or bag filters or whatever simply cuz the flamer tanks are only enough to make 8, but since I only have enough to make 8 guard....... we'll see how it goes.

Bit of a stretch, but if you have a few extra mortar shells, they are fairly small and tank-like without the fins on.

I have decided to go with the canteen and keep the skirt looking coat, cuz maybe it's the colour differences the it looks weird, so here are the results after I went ouside and gave it an basecoat of black:

dude I have no idea but this is what the packet says:
Darco
Acoustic
Plain Steel, 80/20 Bronze:
D10
1st E ,.010" ,0.25mm(silvered Steel)
4th D, .030" , 0.76mm (80/20 Bronze)
Corrosion Inhibiting Envelope

I think i might be the 4th D cuz it's bronze, hope that helps.

I'm just wondering what exactly you are calling a "bullpup"?

F.Y.I. (just in case you don't know, if you do this is for those who dont) A bullpup rifle is one whose action, magazine, and firing mechanism are located BEHIND the trigger, allowing for a shorter lenght overall (and quickening target acquisition), while allowing the barrel to remain as long as one in a non-bullpup configuration.

Here is an example:

It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

Hey man, thanks for explaining, I only knew about the magezine beging behind the trigger so I guess now I learnt. I really just saw some pics of the drop troops' weapons so I made a similar thing, here's a behind the scenes if you will of the las gun, thanks any way:

I would suggest to cut the string a little bit and fix the "air purifier" at chest or abdomen level. IMHO looks better that way.

Very Nice, I may steal that for a mini or two. I was just asking because the picture labelled "bulpup added" was just showing a GS'd carrying handle (at least from what I can see).

I'm not sure, I kinda like the long breathing tube look but you're right, at the chest looks a lot better, so here are my options:
1.Sticking the air filter at the chest with a hund down long tube
2.putting the stuff BEHIND the body like on the back
3.cut the tube very short like the idea like Miguelsan suggeted
anymore ideas? thanks

That is pretty sweet. Not digging the coat add on deal, but who knows some paint might fix that. the gas masks OTOH look awesome. and personally I like the elongated tube on the mask. I know they normally are chest length, but it looks cool dangling that low. over all nicely done

yeah I will retry the coat/skirts lol, I ripped my sgt's skirt off with ease and I looked up more killzone Helghast pictures and only a few soldier classes have coats so they aren't really nessacery but it's good to have coat moulding skills under my belt. more pics soon after some carapace armour is added

other then the skirt on the one model it looks good. it sticks out to much from the rest of the model. try to sculpt some folds into it or buttons or something.

the marine with the non-rebreather is a great conversion. you might want to consider putting the O2 on his back though because oxygen is oxplosive. and a 2200psi explosive bomb straped to the chest isn't good strategy. but don't put it on the small of the back because if they fell it would break their back and cause more problems then good.

but i'm just rambaling, you've done a great job keep it up.
