Thanks, you three.

Since I painted the first Legion Fett in his new colors, I wanted this one to represent the scene where he first gets his armor back on Tython, before the new paintjob. I am glad it reads as suitably battered.

Working on the Rancor.

Lots of hide to cover. And the dangers of 3D printing:

A random Wych-ish gal. Nothing but cheesecake. Speaking of...

Still working away on Velma.

Always plenty to do. Thanks for looking!

Like said in the challenge thread, the Wraithknights turned out really good!

The models for the Beep Boop challenge are amazing. And the "goblin green bases", oh man! Such a great work.

Thanks, Ezki!

All done. Absolute Unit. Rancor, Fett, Grogu. Had a better time painting these than I thought I would, especially the Rancor. Pics are a little dark, since I had to dial the exposure back so Grogu didn't blind anyone. He turned out a little luminous.

Getting closer.

And a couple details.

My daughter also painted this Pumpkin Beholder. Fun mini from Reaper. I kinda want one.

Plenty more on the go. Better decide what to paint for the Halloween challenge. And get the printer working again. Thanks for looking!

I look forward to a time my daughter might want to paint minis. You are very lucky

Really nice work on that Fett

Awesome Fett, great work capturing a moment in the character's life that's rarely seen in mini form. The rancor came out really solid too, so much darker than expected with some nice texture work. The Grogs is practically flowing in comparison

Nice work on Fett and the gang, they look great!

Thank you, all!

Here's hoping it happens soon, Facebeard.

Going to work on some KD minis for the Halloween challenge. Watcher and Twilight Cloak will be the main focus, with the other minis as stretch goals. Hope to get at least a few extra done.

Also finished another Mando and some Night's Watch. Need to finish the bases before pics. Plenty to do. Thanks for looking!

youwashock,

Great Absolute Unit there: Rancor, Fett, Grogu. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

Cheers,

Excellent work on the Star Wars trio. Fett in particular is amazing, certainly looks very battle hardened! Also please tell me that you didn’t paint the texture on Velma stockings and that it was a dry brush over an already textured surface!?! Looking awesome so far

Good call, Cap'n!

Yeah, gobert, that's all printed texture. I don't do trompe l'oeil.

The promised pics of the latest Randolorian and Night's Watch. Just a few chumps left and my infantry are done. Maybe play the game some day.

No, they still haven't made Jango for Legion.

Look, ma! Resources that probably should have been allocated to something else! Heap-big gamers remorse.

Back from chaperoning a school camping trip. Need to get cracking on the challenge entry. Always plenty to do. Thanks for looking!

Rando-Jango looks good, these Legion minis take the contrast really well. The Nights Watch look great all together, there’s something oddly satisfying about the ASOIAF movement trays

Thanks, gobert!

The bases (and basing) are doing a lot of the lifting for my ASoIaF minis. They sure aren't much to look at individually.

Primed The Watcher and the next four Watchmen. Slow, but forward, movement.

Thanks for looking!

Really cool ASOIAF minis there, I am myself on the brink of getting some

Slowly working on challenge models. Have pretty much ruled out stretch goals already, but I managed to prep Twilight Cloak. Been watching Dune again so he got different hands than the stock model to strengthen the Muad'dib vibes.

Thanks for looking!

Yikes. Month's almost over. Better get serious. Yeah, sure.

Trying to get something going on the Watcher. Inspiration fled. Could still get him done, though.

Sketching in highlights and where I want the light showing from under the cloak. Meh.

While I have not been busy, the printer sure has. Putting theory into practice with the Print N' Play Eldar army. Two Wraithknights and four tanks in progress. Looking at an Iyanden style build, as those models should be doable in filament. Minimal paint. Feels like heresy, but it's fun to make toys.

Always more to do. Stay nerdy, my friends. Thanks for looking!

That Watcher model looks like it will be a lot of fun to paint-- all those folds in the cloth should make for some fun shading and highlighting. I look forward to seeing how you approach the glow-from-within-- I've never been able to that satisfactorily.

Now showing some random Biones models!

Painting total as of 1/19/2024: 7 plus a Deva King statue
Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

Keep at it! Month is not over yet.

I should fiddle with my printer more. I was not happy with the level of detail it was kicking out, so lost interest. Interesting that you are doing Eldar, as smooth curves are not really something I expect from filament...

Thanks, you two!

Yeah. He's neat. All cloth and such. Got my feel back for him and should be able to get him done. I love Kingdom Death. And I hate Kingdom Death. The game has such a staggering amount of content as it is, with even more to come. I doubt I would recognize the game at this point. And I have a festering bitterness over how long the KS is taking to fulfill, spurred by how nonchalant the creator has been about it and the fact that there never seems to be a lack of a sale on their website of new stuff. Yeah, I get it, development times, keep the lights on, etc. I don't care anymore. It's been too long. Every little new thing that takes your attention away from the projected 10 YEAR fulfillment time-line is a problem. Especially when those new things have game content. Want to keep your sculptor busy? Cool, whatever. But quite wasting time on developing game content not related to the KS. Anyhow, here's how the Watcher looks at the moment. Rant over.

It's a bit of "acceptable roughness" where the prints are concerned, Nev. I think I can live with it, as it is a bit of a lark, anyway. Seeing what I can get away with, as it were. A little progress on that front. The Night Spinner is getting there, and the Wave Serpents. Need to print the extended compartment for the 2nd one, but both have their shield vanes.

Got a Watcher to finish. Thanks for looking!

Watcher is all done. Ended up pretty happy with the result after hating on this mini for most of the month. This is a "no frills" version of this model. For ease of play, painting and possibly transport, I left off some lanterns and what is commonly referred to around these parts as "swirly gak." Doesn't really affect the model. Still plenty ghostly.

Looking to paint something that will (hopefully) be low stress and that I have been wanting to work on for a couple months. Elric the White Wolf from GW's ancient Melnibonean range. Picked this guy up in the garage clean-out. I have owned some the rank and file from that range for many moons, but never the man himself.

I weep with envy over how many minis you've painted, and they all look amazing to boot. Rancor and pumpkin monster caught my eye for sure. 😀

Thanks, MegaDave! Again, good to see you back.

First PnP tank is done. A Falcon because that's a good place to start, and it's still a great design even after all these years. Looking forward to seeing how they will all look together. The other three tanks aren't far from completion. Then it's time to assemble the Wraithknights while I print the Wraithlords.

I like what you have done with that canopy.

Also, I love me some Melniboneans. I have a smallish army of them, along with Elric and Dyvim Tvar, but not the White Wolf. I look forward to seeing your take on him.

Ooo that's a big one, I've looked at those too in the store but I am too intimidated by them so instead bought (and already finished) a wraithknight, what craftworld are you painting that Falcon for?
