With the Eye of the Gods special rule for characters, where they must challenge if possible...Can a champion premptively challenge so that the character in the unit doesn't have to?

Only if you're fielding a War Shrine.

A character may not challenge if there is a challenge in progress. The EoG rule will force a character to challenge if possible, which will supercede the normal rule allowing the player to choose who challenges. However, as Manfred points out, if you have a War Shrine, or multiple characters, you would presumably pick who challenges. ( I say presumably because the rules do not tell us how to resolve that conflict and the default challenge rules allow choice).

All wrong.. the rule states all chaos models who can challenge must.. meaning characters and champs must challenge.. dunno how that works for who chooses who goes into the callenged but even w.o the warshrine your champs have to challenge.

Canaan you should read the Chaos Rules again.
It says that "Chaos Models that may issue challenges must do so." This is part of the Eye of the G-ds special rule that only select models have. In order for a Chaos Model to be effected by this they must have the Eye of the G-ds special rule.

By the main rules only one challenge can occur in each combat instance. This means that only one challenge can be issued and its up to the controlling player to decide who issues that challenge. There is nothing in the Eye of the G-ds special rules that allows for more than one challenge in each combat instance.

Neg, why are you leaving out the 'o'?

Religious reasons. Its a common Jewish custom to leave out the o and replace it with a dash when writing the G word in a non religious text.

Oh, sorry. I was just curious.

NM: I thought that only applied to the Judeo-Christian God (YHWH) not to other gods (even if capitalized). Not trying to be antagonistic, just curious.

using the word G-d in general even not talking about the one you referenced is still some thing that most Jews won't write out completely. There are some that do but not many that do it on a constant basis.
