Hey gang, I'm working pretty hard on my Vostroyans lately, but I got a little distracted. I was in the middle of sculpting a bomber jacket on an ogryn and waiting for green stuff to dry that I decided to take some pictures of my aborted Eldar project.
I was all set to start eldar about 6 months ago, while I waited for IG to come out. I bought and assembled a lot of stuff, but somewhere along the way, I lost interest. Now I'm all fired up about getting ready for IG, but it won't take me that long to repaint my already painted vostroyans... when I'm done with them, I'd like to start in on something else.
Is this scheme worth keeping? Is there anything else I could do to it that might make me a bit more excited about it. I got about one dire avenger in before I called it quits... I was planning to paint them in aspect colors, but any loose cloth (like their arm ties) would get the warlock purple treatment.
Here are the pics. Thanks for any tips to take them to the next level....

That's an interesting paint scheme. Have you ever played a game as eldar? What other minis do you have?

Yeah I played dozens of games. Lost more than I won, albiet the crowd i run with brings serious heat to games. I feel like the eldar are underpowered at the moment. But that is a discussion for another forum.
I have just about everything you'd need to make a mech eldar army, a ghost army, a biker swarm army, and even a guardian spam army. I tried em all. I just painted these particular units because they seemed the most fun to paint.

Yeah, the Emperor doesn't look to kindly on my dealings with the eldar. I better get back to the Vossies ASAP hehe.

Ah, well then maybe you could use leftover parts for conversions?

I was thinking of just kinda tucking them into my closet. You never know when inspiration will strike. I think with a little tweaking I'd really love this scheme. And maybe I'll be painting these up to prepare for some future eldar codex.

I your colour scheme on the snipers! They look great! No so mutch on the Wave Serpent tough... Way to mutch purple on that one (at least for me). Where the purple on the snipers is nice and subtle you're totally going overboard on the tank. I would keep the blue gems tough.

Nice stuff, but I agree with Joostuh. There's a little much purple on the Wave Serpent.
The Rangers are real nice. How did you do the skin and the cloaks?

I like the camo stuff on your snipers, but I can't see the point in going camo when your head is a bright beacon for anyone taking potshots at you. Go all camo on these!

I like how clean the white is as well as the seams on the serpent. The warlock purple is a great color against white, but I agree with the other posters that it might be a bit vibrant, especially for the pathfinders. That being said, it's a great color combination for craftworld eldars. I'd love to see more.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money
"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

I, too, really like the cloaks on the Rangers. Great work!
