Forever alone

It's really undergeared. You don't have any champions to fight challenges (Sorcerers won't do too well) and your Sorcerers don't have enough funky gear. Take something cool like a book of secrets. Those marauder horsemen need flails; otherwise, much of their effectiveness is wasted. They're meant to charge, hit, and then usually they die.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

The marauder horse are used as a lure to pull units, as with them being fast cav they can flee then rally and still move.

The wizards all take flickering fire which is a cool magic missile as well as another cool spell, i might try and fudge in infernal puppet.

The list is all about moving your opponent around and using your speed to pick fights.

I would consider to create 1 bigger unit of chaos Knights, it would be a much harder hammer into your opponents units
Load it with a magic banner and a champion, watch it just WRECK,
Chaos knights are hard so they will be the target of your opponents magic and shooting so a bigger unit will probably survive better

I agree that you could invest in some gear, and I'll also note that variety is the spice of life as well as more entertaining games for you and your opponent. Frankly I think you've gone overboard on the sorcerers, but a BSB might really serve to help your significant investment in knights stay around - AND he can solo charge units in the flank and have a decent chance of winning. Plus MoT + BoS makes for a decent little support caster. Here's my tweaked list:

L: Sorcerer Lord - MoT, level 4, disc, golden eye = 335
H: Sorcerer - MoT, level 2, disc, puppet = 195
H: Exalted - MoT, BSB, flail, shield, disc, book of secrets = 199

C: 5 Marauder Horsemen - MoS, musician, throwing axes = 91
C: 5 Marauder Horsemen - MoS, musician, throwing axes = 91
C: 5 Marauder Horsemen - MoS, musician, flails = 91

S: 5 Knights - MoN = 230
S: 5 Knights - MoN = 230
S: 5 Knights - MoN = 230
S: 5 Knights - MoN = 230

R: Spawn - MoK = 75

Total: 1997 points, 9 pd / 5 dd

Sorcerer lord now has a 3+ ward, remaining disc sorcerer rocks the puppet for obvious reasons (one of them keeping your lvl4 alive!), and there's the BSB of ultra-handiness - build credit I give to Sergrum over on TWF (and possibly here too), who used it to great effect winning the Conflict GT recently. One of the horsemen units got flails because you will want 5 S5 + 5 S3 attaks somewhere at some point, though I agree with you that throwing axes always come in handy. Finally, I added a khorne spawn so that your army has some semblance of theme: each of the 4 gods are represented (Tizz heroes, Slaanesh core, Nurgle specials, Khorne rare), and appopriately Tizz has stuck it to Kr0n by just including a spawn Did I mention how drunkenly useful spawn are?

But yes, your army is pure cav otherwise, and you likely don't find the inclusion of the spawn as entertaining as I do. Here's with no spawn:

Maybe you'd invest those 75 points differently, but I know that a) you need warhounds for houndy purposes, b) losing a tie because you didn't bring a musician along is for chumps, c) light armor + mounted = 5+ save the combat horsemen. Another thought might be 2x 5 warhounds (60) + spell familiar on the lvl 4 (15), but then I do like musicians.

just a small point, if you are a BSB you cannot use a flail since it is a 2 handed weapon, that should take you to around 60pts so you can invest in 2 units of warhounds, a must for an chaos cav army.

A BSB certainly can use a flail, at least in the WoC book. They dropped the rule about not being able to take other equipment in addition to the army standard, and it doesn't matter how many hands the weapon is - the standard is basically stapled to the dude's back

On the new list, what do you see the advantage being? Another place to spam flickering fire from? You want to know why you want a lvl 4? Because infernal gateway wins games. Hell, even tournaments! The spell is sick, and you need somebody who can toss 4+ dice into it. The new list gets you 1 more wound total and another platform for small spells. Not worth it for the loss of gateway (or a good chance at getting it). Which might be another reason to go for the 2x5 hounds + spell familiar option I posted last.
