I saw the beast this past weekend fully constructed and painted, but I didn't have my camera. Tomorrow I will have pictures. My FLGS receives pre-release copies of all new fig/kit releases. My friend gets to paint them up.

Yeah, I'm going down to drop some stuff off for buddy and will be swinging by store to take pictures. I just wanted to get the level up first, but really I was surprised to see this Stompa. I didn't realize the release date was close. On my way to take the pics.......

Is it open topped? I think it should be open topped. It's definitely open topped.

I've seen two stompas painted in gaming stores now, and they both have the same general color scheme, pretty much black with a few spots of indiscriminate greyish color. Mine will be obnoxious. Not just regular obnoxious, not mid 90's "Let's paint everything red and blue" obnoxious, but Rogue Trader "lets give people seizures" obnoxious.

I too, would like to see a more colorful stompa. This one intially looks kind of bland, but the more I looked at it the cooler it got. Alot of weathering on the armor. I'm sure it was done in haste.

Now to my Apoc books to see stats on this gem......

with discount i only paid £45 each from ebay, but 2 weeks waiting -_-

as for colours, i plan on a nice bad moon one, so bright yellow lol
allthough, covering a small area with yellow is annoying as it takes several coats, painting a whole stompa, thats another story

When I was asked to paint the Stompa, I had already painted a black reach set and a few other ork goodies for the store and decided to paint this model to go with the paint scheme that I had already used.

That is definitely sig worthy haha.

I saw it today. It's a nice kit, and it had the generic GW staff paintjob (tin bitz and chainmail drybrush assault).

But for a model that's essentially hollow it's pretty expensive. That's right; I'm still reeling from the fact that easter eggs have an inside.

Wait a minute I've already seen it at my local GW and I nearly knocked it over (I shudder at the thought of destroying £60 worth of kit)

It was the same sort of rusted metal look and I second the more colourful stompa!!!

Not sure. Though I do have a spray can of Blood Angel Red that is looking for a use.
