In all seriousness though, this is the list I run and it does me fairly well..
DP - Wings,
MoT, Warptime
Dp - Wings,
MoN, Warptime
GUO - Greater Daemon
2x 10
PMs - 2xPlasma,
AC,
PF
2x 3 Obliterators
Strong solid
CC, mid range fire, long range fire, anti-tank capabilities, tough to kill (which means it really doesn't need rhinos), and able to hold objectives well enough...
Any experienced chaos general will tell you daemon princes are hands down, the best
HQ and maybe even asset overall that we have on the field at this points range. Regardless of what you give them, they will massacre - As long as you can keep them alive to do so, which shouldn't be hard considering all the cover fire and targets for your enemies. I'm not a big fan of lash myself, I favor the more survivable and killy princes, and I must say warptime is sexy. In this army the two marks can come in handy for different situations, lead with the tzeentch one if your enemies have lots of high
AP weapons, and place him in combat with anything that ignores armor. The nurgle one will whipe out any low strength unit (and by low strength I mean 4-5 or lower!) that doesn't penetrate his armor save and most of the time even the ones that do. Both
DPs excell at taking out
HQs and tanks as well.
Also don't ever underestimate the big fat one (greater daemon); folks will argue that he's not worth the dead
AC or that he rarely gets into combat, but believe me he's 100 points of pure evil slaughterf*ck. I've whiped out my opponents entire
CC force with him alone no joke! The S 6, T 6, -/4+, 5 attacks is not to be taken lightly, and if nothing else he's yet another target on the field your opponent has to choose from and can pop out of any one of the two champs that need him most (although in my 2000 pt I use the 4x melta chosen delivery system with 10pt
AC no pfist ;P)
Plague marines are excellent troops and 10 is a solid number, they're tough, and they can lay a maelstrom of midrange fire turn after turn and not die as well as being very effective in close combat and tying up units that well.. need tying up. Reason I choose plasma guns is simple, if they're objective holders their gonna sit on an objective and wait, meaning they'll be stationary firing until whatever is after that objective is close enough to charge them (wherein they absorb the charge cus of blight grenades). And the more obvious reason .. 6 obliterators 2(1) powerfists and 3 monsterous creatures is entirely more than enough to take any whatever tank-storm your enemies might unleash, period.
As far as the obliterators go .. yet another asset to any chaos general. These guys are deadly, plain and simple, and the closer they get the wider your variety of deadliness. ALWAYS advance with them unless you have a good advantageous position in which you have great line of sight and good cover, or if you need to help your plaguies guard an objective.
BTW the only reason I have them in groups of three is because this army is tailored for kill point battles as my friends and I use kill points as a secondary objective. Your enemies will have a very tough time squeezing kill points out of this list. But field oblitskies however you want.
My favorite tactic is the offensive wall - with a list like this leading with the plague marines is key. If they're gonna get shot let them, no big deal you have more, and they're NOT gonna die easily. Set both groups in front of your enemy 12 inches away and rapidfiref*ck them. In most situations you'll win a firefight like this with obliterators backing you (depending on opponents firepower obviously). If they get charged .. hold out for one turn (which isn't hard in the least) then charge in with all your daemons. Even if your plaguies get all but whiped out, which generally doesn't happen, your daemons with all or most of their wounds WILL clean up, especially if you have 6 powerfisted obliterators following behind.
I can't say it's "Ultimate" because I haven't played every army, although I am curious to see how it would fair against swarms and large number armies...
The khornite list above is nice too, I like it a lot. If it were me I'd consider dropping 1 lesser daemon, which is enough to afford 2
MoN or
MoN/
MoT on the
DPs, but honestly it works just fine in the situation given as they're gonna survive following land raiders.
