So we all know that orks come from fungus (as do snotlings and gretchin). What are squigs then? Indigenous to an ork planet? Perhaps ork scabs fall off and become squigs?

PROSECUTOR: By now, there have been 34 casualties.

They come from the same fungus, as do squigoths. Theres a thread about it from a while back I'm sure.

Fungal spore growth cycle of an Ork settlement:

First- You get Squigs and fungi.
Second- You get Snotlings to cultivate the Squigs and fungi.
Third- You get Grots for construction and other menial tasks. Maybe also to cultivate the Snotlings.
Finally- You get Orks. To kick ass and cultivate everything else.

Voila. An Ork settlement.

all from the same spores i believe.

Edit: incase anyone may like random info: squig is short for squiggly beast (as known by the imperium)

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

Forever alone

Originally (in the old fluff), squigs were Tyranids created from absorbed Ork DNA, and the Orks stumbled upon them during a Tyranid invasion and, recognising them as Orky, tamed them.

Nowadays, I think the explanation is that they're a species independent of the Orks, so I assume that they breed normally.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I agree with cheese they were captured orks with spliced nid DNA(this explains their dislike or grots)
