C-Horse looks good with paint on, even if the print had some issues. Looks like a clod hiding back there. It is adorable.

Fun fact: kirin is also the Japanese word for giraffe.

)s your painting keeping up with your printing? One of the reasons I won't get into 3D printing is the knowledge that my backlog would increase exponentially.

Now showing even more dwarfs from Mantic!

@Josh, No, miniature painting is not happening at all. Being on Furlough you'd think i could knock some stuff out like Graven, but instead I am painting walls, ceilings and the random cat. My wife has found plenty of home renovations for me to do, and work at the church has been hectic as well.

To add t the lack of progress saturday my mom was taken by ambulance to the hospital. 5 years ago she had an issue which led to the surgical removal of her stomach and 30+ days in surgical intensive care. we returned to the same area, just two doors down from the other room. I say we, but it was my sister and my mom as only one visitor per day for 8 hours is allowed. If that person leaves for any reason then NO one else is allowed in. It's a real test of patience during the corona scare. Yesterday was the 46th anniversary of her crapping me out , so I think she likes the hospital around this time of year. Today is my turn to sit the day with her. We just got moved to a regular room thank God, a new surgery is not yet slatted, but her gallbladder must come out. She is just too week right now from an infection in it to survive the surgery.

Just another day in the life of Theo . People worry about murder hornets, I just laugh and put honey on toast and say come get some.

LOL, Theo your mind is an amazing place, never change.-camkierhi 9/19/13

My best wishes are with you. Wouldn't like to be in hospital at the moment.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. She is having one procedure as I type, my eldest sister is there with her, it’s a minor one that happens about twice a month unfortunately. She was much more nervous about this one as her regular doctor that handles it has moved away and this is a first for this radiologist. She should be going home tomorrow as test results have all been coming back well.

The main area of concern is she I still still refusing surgery in two weeks, which means reoccurring infections and pain will happen until she either relents or her body gets so worn down from antibiotics and steroids that they will have no effect.

Either way all us kids and extended family are backing whatever decision she chooses.

On to better things.

He’s got legs and he knows how to use them.

Well mom was supposed to I come him extradited today, but the procedure caused a snag. Another night at least in as she was having leaks around the surgical site .

But onto other, better, more funner news.

CONQUEST: the Last Arguement of Kings

Spent some of the BDay money on something that caught my eye in the store last week. I’m not a fan of the Spire aesthetics, but the hundred kingdoms I saw doable, but flaming dwarf types really was calling me.

Picked up the main box, a dinged copy (cheaper) of the companion, two units of Dweghom (flamey dwarfs) and a sorcerer along with a dinged copy of Kings of War third edition softcover.

Miniaturemarket had an in store special that if you spent over $150 you got a gift card somewhere between $10-500(random), I spent $200 and got a $20 card, so basically a 10% kickback on this order. I’ll have to wait till they refill conquest again and hope they still have gift cards left .

I need a break from printing. I actually am looking at everything I’ve printed and realize I have a problem....one that I guess only more plastic would handle .

That's a nice haul, Theo
I expect it is a different feel looking through sprues and putting the kits together vs printing? So probably isn't weird to buy them when you're getting burnt out by printing.
All the best to you and your family.

Quick display of a Design by Taarnak here on DakkaDakka. Sgt. Slaughter the Catchcan drill instructor that fell back in time.

Standing with some striking scorpion prints that came out well. Except I accidentally must have thrown away one of their chainswords .

Wow that came out pretty well Theo. I'm very interested to see how it looks with paint.

Thanks for sharing.

Edit:
Out of curiosity, how tall is he? I sized it to 40mm. I'm also interested to know if that size held.

Wow, a 3-d printer now. I have been away too long.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother. I cannot even imagine how frightening it must be to be in the hospital right now. Let the antibiotics knock back the infection and she'll do fine in surgery. I know several people who are gall bladder-less. She'll just need to be careful about what she eats. Hopes and prayers to her for a swift and complete recovery.

Nice Kings of War/Conquest haul, if you go in, you go all in

And Sarge came out nice, he probably hid the other sword to upset that pesky xenos!

The Conquest models do look nice, if a little larger than anything else. I got to play a preview game of that with the designers at UK Expo a couple of years back and it was fun.

You know that feeling you get when you do something you’ve never done before.....lots of nerves...then an “I’ve got this” then.......real excitement.

Got the replacement part in. Quickly saw more wires than I hoped to mess with. Started to trace back to where it all connected and took apart way more screws than I thought I’d need to. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Snipped wires, cut cable ties, snaked Wired’s all around. Found that the end connectors were held in by hot glue . Cut through that waiting to hear the circuit board break. But it’s all back together now.

Even started a print.....

Then quickly stopped as I remembered I probably should level the bed as I’ve flipped the machine over three or four different ways.

Leveled and first print is well on the way and looking fabulous.

You get to learn all sorts of new things when you get a 3D printer...like how to fix stuff .

Well I’ve got legs.......don’t know how to use them though.

Front arms are almost done.

And other side of the arms showing the claws.

These are someone’s design of the forge-world Seraptek heavy Construct.

What amazes me is how inexpensive the printer is, and the results look great - As the technology gets even more refined, we are going to be looking at some seriously awesome models printed in our own homes

That Sgt Slaughter is amazing. Is that from GI Joe fans or Wrestling fans? I love the idea of a whole load of WWF classic superstars to print at home.

Good luck with the Conquest stuff, as you say some of the aesthetics can be a bit odd but there are certainly a lot of serviceable sculpts in the range, and HIPS is always nice.

Finally those claws...woah cannot wait to see the counts as Sreaptek come together. Size wise that thing is a beast.
