I'm a bit skeptical on this one. i've heard of king builds with the cloak, having the liche's form into a choir, but whats the pro's/cons of doing this?

I collect:

Grand alliance death (whole alliance)

Stormcast eternals

Slaves to Darkness - currently Nurgle but may expand to undivided.

Care to elaborate on the question?

2012- stopped caring
Nova Open 2011- Orks 8th Seed---(I see a trend)
Adepticon 2011- Mike H. Orks 8th Seed (This was the WTF list of the Final 16)
Adepticon 2011- Combat Patrol Best General

Is a tomb king with the cloak of the dunes a good idea?

this should be in the tactics section BTW. I think the cloak is better served on a Litch Priest/high Priest than on a king. There are plenty of other items to kit your king out with other than the cloak.

The guy that won DOGCON in australia used the cloak on his prince, kept the king with the standard DOE/shapesh.

His reasoning was that if you play well, you don't need the cloak on the heirophant, and with the prince, you can keep him back to help smite your catapult/archers, then fly him closer to combat when needed.

I think that this is a really viable idea, it would just take more skill than players like myself currently have. Apparently that guy is one of the best etc. If you want to build on this element of the strategy, you might try cloak + crown of kings on your TK. Let me know how that goes!

I might just do that. it fits my fluff to have the crown. my army is from quatar.

Being able to fire off those two incantations on things that really need them at the right times, and forcing your opponent to need 2x dispel dice most of the time per incantation...

It'll be like having a mini High Liche Priest that still allows chariots to be core, and can fight (and is way tougher, doesn't cause your army to crumble when he dies, etc etc).

Pretty cool imo. Might even try this myself.
