Hi i'm currently making a chaos Knight Titan household for my Red Corsair army, the chainswords and mobile look make them look a bit like pirates here are some pics of how far i've got. They are taken on a mobile but I will put some higher quality pics on later in the thread.







I think that I will cast each part in resign or something and make 3 copies and convert one for the Lord, each one will have an individual pose and head and the lord titan will have giant exhaust's on its back

Dude, these actually look interesting, shame about the quality of the photos.

Next time you upload photos, try turning them the right way though.... It takes about 1.47 second per picture, and I guarantee that people will be giving more replies to your thread, if you actually make that effort.

Casting these sounds like an expensive way, but if you have the means and materials, go for it!

I feel you shoud modify the body though: it looks very bulky right now, especially when compared to the upper legs. How tall will he be?

Yea what i'm going to do is make a mould of individual peices and cast them 3 times so each titan has an individual pose. I'm going to see if I can find some cheap resign and a mould making kit. This model wont acctually be used as it is a casting model and the resign ones will be more secure and hard wearing. Each head will be made individually so there is a difference in looks and the lord will get some extra conversion.

The idea is that the upper body, pauldrons and lower leg looks bulky compared to the arms and upper legs. This will hopefully give a sense of mobility and will make them look like they are a bit faster than warhounds. Well they stand about 8 1/2 inches tall and the lord will stand about the same height but there will be two exhaust's on his back that add about another 1 1/2 inches of height to make him look bigger and hopefully in charge ^_^ Oh, how's your titan going?


The good thing about making a mould is that if it all goes to plan then I can make even more household's and when I am more experienced I will be making a Warhound and casting it, I will then make about 10 copies and 2 warhound titans for my chaos apocolypse army, Berossus' Grand Titan Legion of the Iron Warriors, Berossus being the dreanought warmaster from the black library book Dead Sky, Black Sun by Graham Mcneil. Very good writer and his Ultramarine books are worth a read and Storm of Iron is amazing. T

In that case, I'd go for heavy legs an a small torso. Still, it's you rmodel, so we'll just have to see in the end.

Slowly getting painted; both arms are finished, legs are near-finished, and the torso is just undercoated black. Too many side projects I guess.

Well, on saturday I am going to Modelzone to get some supplies to finish the lower leg and to start the weapons and pauldrons and hopefully some moulding material. If anyone has any tips for making a mould or reccomended products, please share them as I want to make these look as good as I can make them.

I just have to say: I don't like the head. It's very cartoony IMO, and detracts from a model with some great potential.
Since I prefer constructive criticism (even on the net ), here's my reasoning:

- it looks orky, not chaotic/imperial
- too wide and too flat to be a cockpit
- a bit cartoonish
- it's not integrated into the rest of the body; the old knights had armopur plating covering the upper head, maybe this might help.
- In conclusion, I'd consider making it more 'cockpit' like and less 'totem' like

I think I agree with all of the orky head comments and too flat, i'm going to make a new head for the lord and there will be some sort of armour plating over the top of the head. As well as this I have found that moulding it is VERY expensive so it's gonna be all old fashion from now on.

I'm really sorry for the wait, laziness and lack of camera lead on my part but the three are finished, painted and have kicked arse in the tank battle at Manchester GW. We broke the world record and included I think about 2800 tanks in one battle, I might have the figures a little wrong but we smashed the world record! Anyway, here are the pics---
