Hi everyone,
Long time lurker, first time poster.

I've been following the =I=Munda threads that are on these forums and I've got to say that the stuff that's being done is fantastic. I'm not a wargamer but I love the character of the 40k universe and dig converting models to show my interpretation of it.

As such, here is the start of my six man =I=munda gang. In the future they will be stand ins for a Witch Hunter Inquisitor Lord and Retinue in a Dark Mechanicus themed Witch Hunters Army (Unfortunately I'm not full bottle on the arms and equipment for the games so feel free to turn a blind eye if I've modelled something completely illegal in games terms).

First up is my Enforcer/Slaver. He's the headcracker of the group and his main role is to keep the slaves that belong to his master in line.

Secondly is a Chaos Squat. The Dark Brotherhood has taken a particular interest in the Squat race because of their affinity with engineering. As such, many Dark Mechanicus Magi keep a retinue of these stout warriors as battlefield sappers. More often though, Squat worlds are raided with the intent of acquiring slave labour.

And lastly, a WIP of my Magos, inspired by a mini from Privateer Press-

Am currently taking a heap of annual leave from work so I hope to have the gang finished by the ened of the month (fingers crossed).
If anyone has any ideas on what would make a good addition to the gang I'm all ears!
And if you're wondering about the gaps and smothing out that needs to be done in some areas I'm already on it (curse you, enlarged pictures ).

Oooh, looks interesting!

I dig everything I see so far, especially the Squat (probably because he looks a bit taller than usual or maybe because he looks like a pirate with that bionic eye and blunderbuss-type weapon )

What colour scheme are you planning for these guys?

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

Is the Enforcer/Slaver a straight FW model or did you do any converting? It looks great! Before this, I haven't been a big fan of the Vraks renegades, but he looks really nice!

Thanks for the comments guys.
Works progressing pretty well but nothing worth photographing at the moment.

Mister Feral - I haven't settled on a colour scheme yet. Blue/purple fatigues and grey rusted armour and equipment, coupled with pallid skin tones seems most likely.
Death By Monkeys - He's a conversion of a Renegade HQ model (see below). I gave him a new head and right arm. Also had to extend his legs a bit to make him a bit more imposing.

Malika - He's a squat because he drinks copius amounts of space beer and was found covered in blood after butchering his 6 other companions. Apparently, Space Sneezy and Space Happy took the longest to die. Plus he's short.

Should be able to get some more pics up tomorrow (Australian time).

Cheers,
Rush.

Good start here, looking forward to seeing the conversions develop. The FW models are a fantastic base to work from.

Bit late on the update but here are the next two members of the group -

Chirurgeon: Surgeon assistant to the Hellsmiths. Mainly tasked with lobotomy procedures for servitors/soldiers and limb augmentation. Although there are members of the Dark Brotherhood that specialise in the production of combat servitors and cybornetic troops, Chirurgeons in general do not advance through the ranks of the mechanicus. They are eternally bound to their role although many enjoy a large amount of creative freedom with their "works".

Battle Ogryn: The results of lobotimising a captive Ogryn in order to create a front line shock troop. This particular individual has been equipped with a heavy flamer.

(Conversion still very WIP but I needed something to post and I thought you guys might be interested.)

There actually have been 2 other gang members converted and finished but they are being reworked as they really didn't scream personality for such a small group.

Standing right behind you...

The first couple of minis was quite good but i think that the Renegade Ogre is too 'chaosy' for a Machine army.

I believe my first words for this thread are going to be "Wauuv"

These are really cool looking mini's. I really dig your Enforcer/slaver. But yes the squat does seem to be to big to actually being a squat.

Is it possible for you to post a picture, with them all in it, for size measuring??

EDIT: Typo's

Awesome looking stuff you've got going on there.
Nice level of detail on everything just as it should be.
Be careful of the size of the base on the Magos. It could get a little tricky balancing/fitting that on a heavily terrained/skinny walkwayed table.
Can't wait for paint!

I LOVE the Heavy Flamer Ogryn.

Awesome work on the repositioning for the hands and the barrel looks great.

That low slung hunchback-esque style really brings a lot of character to an already great model.

Oh awesome, I'm glad to see a Dark Mechanicus log pop up. I've only ever seen two attempts at making a Dark Mechanicus army: one resulted in some pretty interesting Chaos Spawn techno-hybrids and the other was something more of an OOP model log with some techy looking Chaos guys, but I feel that didn't quite hit what I imagine Dark Mechanicus to look like.

It seems the biggest issue IMO is developing and effective foot soldier; a lot of time they come out either too Chaosy or too Imperial and not enough like Skitarii. However, I think you're heading in a good direction using the Chaos renegade torsos, they look quite good for Dark Skitarii; that is, if you're going for the Chaos Dark Mechanicus and not the Renegade Dark Mechanicus.

Anyway, I think the log's off to a great start. Have you ever read "Dark Adeptus" by Ben Counter? No matter what you think about the writing, it has some interesting material about the workings of a planet of Dark Mechanicus, very very interesting read to me
