Are the West Wind Miniatures SHS heads for the germans look the right size when used on cadian troopers? As i'm making a german type IG army and was going to get 100 heads in Salute Zero Nine on the 28th. Any help would be great.

I'm sure I've seen a post in the modelling forum with the SHS heads on Cadian bodies. I'll see if I can find it...

Yes they look fine. I just received my order of British Berets and the size was just right. Once i get it assembled and painted I will post on the modeling and Painting forums.

Umm... yeah i was just looking at the British Infantry Gas masked heads and i think i'l get them instead because they just look cool

@Morskul - thanks for posting the link to my thread - I was just about to do that myself. Personally, while the German heads look decent on the Cadian bodies, I think if you're wanting a really sharp, distinctive German look, then Pig Iron Kolony Militia heads look better. If you want British Tommy helmets, American steel helmets, or Berets, West Wind will do you better.

I will add one thing and that is that while the West Wind SHS Heads look great on the Cadian bodies, they look pitifully small on Catachans. I'd been getting amped up about building an Apocalypse Now-style IG army and ordered a boatload of SHS heads for use on Catachans - mainly U.S. Steel Helmets, but also some with gas masks, some with berets, etc. But as I started test-fitting the heads on a Catachan body, I found that they just looked like pinheads. Not good. So, I'm scrapping the Apocalypse Now idea and going to use the heads with Cadians for a U.S. WWII-style army.

So, in answer to your question, alive monkey - the West Wind German heads look good on Cadians, but I think for a future German look that Pig Iron heads are better.

I agree with what Death By Monkeys said. I think the only reason cadians work is because that body armor sort of compensates for the head size, especially because the head tucks in nicely with the neck guard. What i ended up doing is using Cadian torsos with Catachan arms and legs. I added the WW Beret heads and made some custom shoulder pads.

Wow, how did the heads not look tiny against the HUGE Catachan arms?

Anyone tried them with SM scouts? I have an idea for beret heads on scout bodies...
