Avatar isnt really needed for his abilities but could work well as a counter-charge/support for the wraithlords.

Second glance, looks very good. Multi-taskable fire dragons, I like it!

If you do want to have a mechenised eldar element to your army, make use of the potentail. Get star-engines for 36" travel!

In an Elfzilla, the Avatar is the only way you get some more MC's in there. The ranges should be pathfinders, and the exarch probably doesn't need crackshot in the Fire Dragon squad.

I would take 5-6 Fire dragons, and ten banshees. Also, eldrad doesn't really do anything neat in this list, and a Phoenix Lord would be alot of fun riding in a wave serpent with either the banshees or dragons.

@whitedragon, Eldrad is the centerpiece of the army, double fortune just make the opponent cry... Avatar and Wraithguard fortuned is a nightmare for the opponent.
The Banshees should be 10 yes but then i need to kill some dragons and then they will use their multirole. Crackshot is there to make sure i have a flamereffect and reroll to wound just hurts them more.
Phoenixlords are good but you need to adapt your army, that means avatar out and get in Jainzar, or dump out banshees and avatar and get maugan ra/Harlequins or Karandras/scorpions....

@Razerous, yeah starengines might be a fine idea ill have a look at it...

Well, this army eventually has a hard time vs. horde armies as the strong multi-shot units are missing (Dire Avengers).

Wuestenfux that depends which horde, i dont fear nids with this list. Orcs that something different,I never take them in consideration when making lists, they are unbeatable when played well. IMHO they need to redo codex or rules for opentopped vehicles...

Fenway Park, Monster Seats

I like it alot...course it almost matches my 'Ard Boys army.

Take out one WLord, Drop the dragons to 5 and remove the serp...

Add Falcon for Dragons, Add 3 ScatterWalkers, Unit of Scorps got me to the 2250.

like the way you think...

I think you would do Better with:
Jain Zar - 190
9 Howling Banshees, Exarch w/ Executioner - 176
Wave Serpent w/ Scatterlaser - 115
And then add a unit of Fire Dragons in a Falcon and the Wraithgaurd
that leaves you with about 750 points left to add Wraithlord and 2 Fire Prims.

had a game versus Nurgle Deamons this weekend and i had serious problems, although i only lost in the last turn of the game, i felt that i had not enough punch to wittle them down, he saved as a madmen to but ok, started thinking about changing the list: just got a unit of warpspiders so i added them but then i still got a hole, so any suggestion for that part would be more than welcome:

Eldrad
Avatar

8 Howling Banshees w/Exarch/Executioner/Acrobatic
Waveserpent w/Spiritstones/ShurikenCannons

10 Wraithguard w/Spiritseer/Conceal
5 Rangers
5 Rangers

5 Warpspiders w/Exarch/Dualspinners

Wraithlord w/Scatterlaser/StarCannon
Wraithlord w/Scatterlaser/StarCannon

Leaves me 132 point to play with, so i could add in fireprism/Falcon or 2 warwalkers with scatters or another unit of spiders or a jetbikesquad

The firedragons are not that good really, they need to be to close to kill anything good and one survivor will spell doom for them... I would prefer some more longranged tankbusting then...

any suggestions?

If you go Wraithzilla then you need to go either all-out for ranged shooting or all-out for close combat/close range shooting. Yours is kind of in-between.

Also, I would suggest taking the starcannons off of the wraithlords and either giving them a sword or an EML.

Drop Eldrad in favor of a Doom/Fortune Seer w/ Stones and Runes of Wit. That should free up enough for a third WL kitted with EML and BL - another MC more than capable of cracking tin cans.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

What about this, adding some more firepower to the list but giving up the Avatar:

1 Eldrad

8 Banshees w/Exarch/Executioner
Waveserpent w/Spiritstones/ShurikenCannon

9 Dire Avenger w/Exarch/Bladestorm/twin Cat
Waveserpent w/Spiritstones/Brightlance
5 Rangers
5 Rangers
10 Wraithguard w/Spiritseer/Conceal

5 Warpspiders

1 Wraithlord w/Scatterlaser/Starcannon
1 Wraithlord w/Scatterlaser/Starcannon

i would say that giving up the avatar for some more fire power was a good chose

Right, heres my version of mech wraithzilla (theres less actual zilla but everything is still rock hard)

Hq
---

2x Farseer + fortune, guide, stones. 240

3x 5man dire avengers = 180

3x 5man wraithguard squads
+Warlock
+Spear
+Destructor
+Wave serpent
+Spirit stones
+TL-shuriken cats = 960

3x Falcon
+2xShuriken cannon
+1x EML (Over the three vehicles) = 375

= 1755

Everythings pretty hard to kill.
6 Vehicles.
Lots of wraithguard. Mobile mobile wraithguard!

The dire avengers never leave thier vehicles voluntarily. Besides that, Hardy strong tanks. Possibly change the third wraithguard squad to somthing cheaper but useful, affording holo-fields and better weapons on the falcons.

I run a similar list of sorts:

eldrad (keeper in 2k always worth the points always)

Avatar (great against those carnifexes and powerfists)

elites I take a cheap firedragon unit in ws and 10 man banshee squad in ws

for troops, 2 wraithguard units although you can drop one for dire avengers in ws

heavy support I just have 2 wraithlords with swords since most of the army is running and a d-cannon battery although you can probably add a more shooty third heavy or just try to work in more things like warpspiders or something.

good maneuvering is the key to this army to make sure you get the best out of your shooting and close combat, wraithguard can take a beating!

Jesus Christ changed my life, He can do the same for you!

For more of a shooting style army, I like your latest list much better, Valek. Of course you could get real adventurous and drop both WS' and add the Avatar back in and maybe another squad of DA's.
