I know the point total I am working with is a bit odd but I am just picking up WHFB and I want to start small, mainly because I am doing a very intensive painting and modeling scheme so the finished product of my 2250 army could be as far as a year away. But this is the 1600 list I came up with keep in mind I am working winthin the contraints this is going to be almost entirely a mounted force.

Heros:
Paladin with wyrmlance and shield on a Bretonian W/H 86 points

9x Knights of the Realm with full command 265 points

Total: 1586

My main problem with this list is I am weak to magic any thoughts on how I can keep this theme and make it more competative?

I play the knights and use an all knight theme.

First off you can not use the same magic weapon on two different heros. It states that in the general book. In our army book it does have a note that talks about giving two characters the same virtue. The second hero pays twice as much for the virtue.

Our magical defense is on the poor side. I have a scroll caddie, a level one damsel, with two scrolls. Hence the name. That offers some protection but not much against a extreme magical army. With the armour and the blessing normal die rolling hopefully I survive until combat.

The knights do not have much choice besides that. We can go magical but then our knight army really suffers point wise. Our advantage is to get into combat as quickly as possiblable. That is our defense, and to target our opponents mages.

Your list besides the one I pointed out looks very good. Wish you the best of luck playing them. An all knight army takes a lot of time to paint properly, especially when you are such a poor painter as myself. Hopefully you will keep us all informed about how you do.

A quick note, don't you need a Paladin BSB?

but, in essence, garythewargamer has put it simply. I would add a scroll caddy, but, that aside, It's a good list as far as I can tell. Watch out for skirmishers and perhaps warmachines, but those shouldn't be a large problem.

I was wondering if i wasn't allowed to take more than one of the same magic item but since the codex said nothing(am used to playing 40K) I assumed it was fine, but I can change that without concern. My only problem with the damsel scroll caddie is she is so point heavy, I am unsure what to have one =/.

Should I just take her stock on a Bret. War horse with 2 scrolls?

A group of peasant bowmen would be good too. They are cheap and can cause some havok depending on the army.

Zhetsuken, I'm pretty sure you're required to take a paladin in an army worth more than 750 points for Brettonia. I'm not sure though, but I'm pretty sure at least.

And I would anyways a paladin with errant knights is just brutal when in lance formation on the charge, or with knights of the realm when you are trying to held an enemy while your other knights flank them.

Are you also using the magical Errantry Banner? Giving the Errant knight more of a punch.

You have to take a Battle Standard Bearer. A paladin with either a Banner (no points limit) and any virtue or magic items and virtue accumulating to 50 max. He cannot carry a shield, so if you dont want a banner I suggest the Gomeril Great Helm for the rerollable AS and the 2+ sv. Also taking the wyrmlance looks nice, but i never be able to use its template effectively. I prefer the heartwood lance. I suggest that you give an errantry banner to one group of KE and reduce them by a model. Meaning that your armed paladin rides with them. It makes up for the lesser WS of the KE. Also you would want to remove 1 knight each from the KoTR.Take a lvl damsel on a BW with 2 DS in one of them, she has magic resistance one giving you an extra dispel dice on any spells cast at the unit she is in. Also she rides in the center of the second rank i.e she doesn't have to fight. Give her Beast lore since it will be the most useful especially if you manage to roll the 6th spell. For the other unit include the BSB helps with CR and his virtue could be useful. Removing the 3 knights will let you pay for the damsel. Your are going to want those scrolls and dispel dices some magic can really hurt knights. I have never used pegasus knight, but they can be useful.. Maybe some yeoman instead(they are mounted) and you won't be devastated when they entice the fanatics out of night goblin or draw fire away from your knights. Could probably get two units of 5 for the cost of the pegasus knights. oh and no LA they need to be fast cav to be cost effective meaning yes they die easily and when you enemy is shooting then your knights are barreling straight at the enemy. If they manage to survive at 3 models they negate enemy rank bonuses on a flank and give +1 CR.

Other than some minor mistakes its a good list. I prefer taking a few peasants, but I understand the theme
