I ordered a lightbox which should get here this week. In the meantime I keep trying to talk myself out of switching horde armies and starting Skaven....
My wallet probably would stop crying if I hadn't found out about Clan Mordkin from the old world:
I mean just look at that fancy lad! The concept easily carries over to a clan of Skaven hiding out in Shyish and even allows me some mileage out of my extra skeleton bits....
Yeah, I've been trying to justify and not justify this to myself over and over again.
Grab the Skulls kit and go to town. Be a very cool realm themed army.

I was just looking at that and thinking that horned skulls fit the horned rat theme very well....
I think this was the sort of thing that was missing out of my death army plans: a way to make the whole thing feel like it was my army instead of a more generic army from the main book.
NinthMusketeer wrote: I have my Skryre painted as clan Volkn from that book. I wish GW had done more, I think they just did Empire, High Elves, and Skaven.
Yup, that's it. It's a shame because it was a good idea for how to do varied forces. They might not have caught on since they lacked any sort of painting tutorial though.

And that Leviadon is one hell of a piece. I'd dread to think how many hours that took!
Truly the best vehicle to kill-maim your enemy-foes! What do you use it as?
It's one of those silly-fluffy things I've bashed with leftovers that is too odd to have a realistic proxy, so opponent willing, it has custom rules.
I've a double-ratling gun field piece using a Vulcan housing and bell wheels, along with a giant warpfire thrower field piece using doomwheel halves as wheels.
Spoiler:
DOOMtank
Move: 6"
Save: 4+
Bravery: 5
Wounds: 15
Warp Lightning:
13" 2D6 4+ 4+ -1 D3
Super zapper:
13" 3D6 4+ 4+ -1 D3
Supercharge: -2 Rend
Super-Supercharge: -3 Rend
Roll a D6, 2+ Supercharges, otherwise takes D3 mortal wounds
Same again to Super-Supercharge (succeed the roll twice, although failure on the 2nd deals D6).

Hey all, I'm working on some conversion ideas i had for some beastmen. It's a snake theme, so for the tzaangor enlightened and skyfyres, i thought of using Melusai and gave them bird wings to appear flying. I'm in need of some ideas for heads.
Ideas proposed so far to me were Seraphon heads (though the necks dont allign), kroot heads, and I thought about using the melusai heads with the snake masks, but smoothing out the backs and use no hair, or green stuff my own.
Ideas?
Nearly 3k+ points of Slaanesh (AoS)
2500 points of Ironjawz
Too many points of Space Marines.
Currently working on finishing my army. Have finished these and now done with about 20+ bloodreavers. Just have a ton of Bloodletters, 15 more bloodreavers, and some heroes to finish up on over the coming months.

Seraphon heads are going to be your best bet, especially in terms of work needed and cost.
Any neck can align with green stuff!
I just started AOS, and have gotten my hands on quite a bit of Khorne. I have a SC: Goreblade Warband box, a Bloodthrone, and I'm splitting the Wrath and Rapture box with a friend. I'll definitely post on here, and may have to dust off my ancient P&M thread for this as well.

I hope you enjoy painting things red. Pro tip: red paints stain brushes really badly. Make sure you clean your brushes really well (and rinse them often).
2000 Khorne Bloodbound (Skullfiend Tribe- Aqshy)
1000 Tzeentch Arcanites (Pyrofane Cult - Hysh) in progress 2000 Slaves to Darkness (Ravagers)
Oh man Buddingsquaw now you need to make sure you post the finished product.
Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.
Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Got a scheme down for my daemonettes at last, too many died (even this one the unit is part of is dead.) Folks on B&C helped me out. Refused to touch the wrath and rapture stuff until I had a scheme for them.
Apologies cruddy camera phone.

How many of them have you got lined up?
Well I will be getting more daemonettes soon. When I say many died during this path of improving my painting I meant it. I was trying to find a paint scheme similar to this artwork, even tweeted a eavy metal painter and he said the daemonettes skin recipe has been lost since it was painted years ago, he said he will ask around.

Da Boss wrote: That skin tone is really nice, shinros. How did you do that?
Now how I got the skin? Here is what I did.
First thing, I mix my water with liquitex flow-aid. Helps prevent leaving brush strokes on flat surfaces and it helps with highlights.
Model was primed corax white
Base:Slaanesh grey, White scar Pallid wych flesh 1:2:1
Next I do the leather and spiked claws which is abbadon black.
Shade for skin:Watered down Druchii violet via medium
Layer:Base mix again
Highlight: Pallid wych flesh
Hair: Dechala Lilac, Shade with a watered down carrobug crimson via medium and then highlight with a dechala and white scar mix.
Crab Claws:Naggaroth night, Shade with nuln(Had to make a shade out of abbadon since I am out of nuln) highlight with warp fiend and then a glaze of naggoroth night on top
Final step: Nuln old gloss on the leather. Gives it that shiny latex look and gives the black depth. (I suck at highlighting black.)
Now I am still not all that great at painting, it was only recently I decided to take it abit more seriously but at the same time I am trying to get any army together. Anyway, here is the recipe.
