Human Auxiliary to the Empire

Played a night goblin unit with two fanatics. We played it that:

1. Both fanatics were released when someone got within 8"

2. Each fanatic was diced for separately.

Is this correct?

Also, a bonus very simple question about a "stand & shoot" reaction -- If a unit is charged from the flank or rear (where it normally can't shoot) can it still do a Stand & Shoot? Or just a hold or flee?

Thanks -

Geoff

Each fanatic would be released and diced for separately, but they would both have to be released when a unit comes to with in 8". They can be released in separate direction, and do not have to be directed towards the model/unit that caused them to be released.

As for units charged in the flank or rear, I believe the only choice for them is hold/flee.

You can Stand and shoot as long as your weapons are able to hit them. This means that if you have a weapon that does not require LoS you can stand and shoot to your flank or rear (Treeman Strangleroot). In almost all cases you can only stand and shoot to the front.

loomisc is correct on the fanatics.

good point negative money. i don“t have the rulebook infront of me but you should check what it says for fast cav. they have a 360 sight arc for shooting but i do not believe they can stand and shoot in the rear/flank.

the difference with the treeman is it does not require line of sight. there can be an obstruction in the way and he can still strangleroot them. others still need line of sight.

The fast cavalry rules actually state that they can only stand and shoot to their front.
