The connotation is that the Necrons rip off the Terminator. They're similar, but I think the "We'll Be Back" rule is actually much more of a link than the looks... The Necron models are much more stylized than the Terminators. They're obviously not human skeletons, unless there is a bunch of humans with big shoulder-plate bones, solid chests, and faces long enough to make Hugh Laurie jealous.

Terminators aren't human skeletons either. Their torsos and faces are much different if you take off the human frosting.
Look at some of the original Necron stuff, and the timing of its release, and you will see a much stronger link than you were aware of.
The current line has evolved from the blatant ripoff.
Just as the Tyranid line has moved away from its inspiration, though Genestealers are still close to the same as the original SpaceHulk models.

No bubble to burst.
Terminator came out in 1985. Rogue Trader in 1987.
I am not aware of any Necron warriors in RT.
There were Robots but not Necron Warriors.

No he is not. He is talking about a picture in the third edition rulebook. I have seen it. The necrons (the C'tan) were first mentioned in the fluff about the callidus assasin phase sword. A bit later then that, around the very end of second edition, the necrons appeared

That is because the ambull was one of the original aliens in the rogue trader book. Hrud and necrons appeared much later.
Just this once when I know for sure, can some little piece of the universe just please agree with me?

Necrons didn't appear in the original rule book. The first real sighting of a necron came with space crusade. At the time though they were referred to as chaos androids
