Most Glorious Grey Seer

Hello There,
We have quite a lot of news for you this time, but first off we`d like to say thanks to everybody that came to see us at the Salute show in London on Saturday and for making it a great event for us. Today we have some sneak previews of some of the new models you can see at our Open Day, announce our new events only model for this year, and we have two new Reaver Titan weapons for you to pre-order and a change in the way you can buy your Reaver from us.
Thanks
Alan Bligh
Forge World Open Day 2009
Forge World will be holding it`s annual Open Day at Warhammer World in Nottingham on Sunday the 5th of April and admission is free. All of Forge World will be present including our sales and customer service team, and our designers to answer your questions and show off what we have in store for you over the next few months. This will include a pre-production copy of Imperial Armour Volume Seven, The Siege of Vraks Part 3, new Daemon Engines for Khorne and Nurgle, a new Daemon Prince and Herald, some future Ork models and more. We may even have a few of the new models for sale on the day in very limited quantities. So in order to further whet your appetite here is a sneaky preview shot of one of the new models that you`ll be able to see, and perhaps buy on the day!
We’ll also have some great participation games for Apocalypse and our always popular ‘ 40k’ scale Aeronautica Imperialis, and we will of course have our sales stand with lots of stock!
Our charity raffle this year will be for no less than a massive Warhammer 40,000 scale Mars Pattern Reaver Titan. Tickets will be £1 each and all proceeds will be donated to Children In Need, so one lucky customer will get to walk away with a brand new titan for the price of a ticket!
We will also be holding a painting competition; bring along your painted Forge World models, and the one we select will win a Forge World trophy for you to take home. Entries will be judged based on quality and interest, rather than size, and if you enter a converted model, it should primarily be made from Forge World parts.
You can find more information about the Open Day on our events page Here.
Forge Worlds Events Only Model 2009
I can unveil our events only model for this year`s show season, which is our Death Rider Commissar for the Death Korps of Krieg, designed by Mark Bedford. This fantastic model, which comes with alternate arms, will be available only from Games Days and other shows we attend this year, along with some of our previous Show Only models while stocks last.
A New Way to Purchase Your Reaver Titans
Along with our two new Reaver Titan weapons we have decided to make our Mars Pattern Reaver Titan available in separate component parts, much as we do with our Dreadnought range. This will enable us to expand our range more easily in future and help out our many customers who have asked to buy different weapon options more freely.
So from now onward, we will be selling our Mars Pattern Reaver Titan in the following way
Reaver Titan Body
Carapace Mounted Apocalypse Missile Launcher
Laser Blaster
Gatling Blaster
Mars Pattern Reaver Titan Power Fist & Melta Cannon
New to pre-order for release the week commencing Monday the 27th of April are two fantastic new weapon arms for our Reaver Titan. The Melta Cannon and the Power Fist. Designed by Will Hayes, these are multi-part weapon arms and look suitably menacing and impressive on the model as you can see Here in an example painted by Phil Stutchinskas in the colours of the Legio Astorum from the Siege of Vraks.
Rules for the Mars Pattern Reaver Titan can be found in Imperial Armour Volume 6, the Seige of Vraks Part 2.
New Catalogue
We at Forge World are currently preparing our new 2009 catalogue for release at the end of April. If you`d like a free copy, which we will send out at no cost to anywhere in the world. Just send a email with your full name and address details to forgeworldcatreq@games-workshop.co.uk or give a ring and we'll take your address details and get you one sent out when the catalogue is released.

QFT!, in the same vein, I have a Chaos Warhound and I would really like to get some different weapon arms for it.

I wasn't a fan of the FW Reaver until seeing this one. I don't know if it's the new pose or the new gear(love that fist), though.

Wow- the new Reaver titan selling method is awesome. Definitely one of the coolest parts of the old school Armorcast titans was the way they sold the expansion kits. Giving people the option to buy a single gun or head variant for their existing titan is way better than gambling that they'd be willing to buy a second titan just to get a weapon variant.
The other upside is it gives people with a more limited budget a shot at buying, assembling and painting their dream titan in parts.
I'd love to see FW do more titan accessory style kits- upgrades on the tech and stuff like that. They can brand it like a 'military refit' sort of thing where you can buy a new sensor package (head) and a new weapon to upgrade your titan. I can see them getting more money that way than gambling on multiple titan purchases (although there are definitely guys and girls out there with multiple titans).
I'll wait until we see a FW Gargant

One more addition- does anyone here think that power fist is just about the coolest damn thing you can dangle from one of those shoulder sockets? Man that looks cool!
Has anyone reading this put one of these titans together? I'm interested in how hard it'd be to mask the spot where the reaper launcher has been removed. I know it's iconic, but it looks like a giant, unadorned block of $125 resin to my eyes... I'd either scratch build it or just leave it off No idea if leaving it off is kosher- I don't have my Adeptus Titanicus rulebooks on me.

There was the two variants, Goth and Hun. As to which was which, I don't recall, but one of them replaced the Carapace Weapon with a Banner Pole. These were typically faster in AT.
I wonder if one of the arm weapons could be mounted up there? But yay on a cheaper way to buy the Reaver as well. Kind of. It's installments of a sort!

The point being:
1) The Mars pattern is a WAY cooler Warhound (Boo Hiss Boxy Titans!)
2) We want to pick whatever weapons we want - especially at that price!

I'm glad they're selling the weapons seperately now. Although this show exclusive model thing is pissing me off. It wouldn't be so bad if they were available at GW stores only, but at certain shows really sucks.

You know, once employed, I think I'm going to order me a Powerfist to fiddle with and assemble.
If I find it okay to build, I might go on to order an entire Reaver. I don't want to shell out that much cash in case my modelling and painting skills aren't up to such a task.

Cool. Thanks for the clarification.
Although I can't see myself adding a banner pole on an already insanely tall model, I can see where it wouldn't be too inconveniencing for epic models.

I like how the melta cannon is a dead ringer for the old plastic Warlord version from ca. 20 years ago. It's a shame that as far as weapons go, it's pretty unimpressive compared to the volcano cannon (though it does have the distinction of being the only AP1 battle titan weapon). I hope they're not done with the model yet, I would love to see a Vortex Missile mount.

With a Reaver costing in the area of AUD$1200-ish, it is probably a good idea to remind my fellow Aussie posters that we pay wonderful import duty on all orders $1000 and above (got stung AUD$300 on our first group FW order... never making that mistake again).
In light of that, this 'build-a-Titan' method should work out to be cheaper. Order the body, then order the arms in one go (plus maybe a couple of extra gribbly's to get it over the free shipping threshold).
Just useful info to know when ordering from overseas.

So are the other weapons swappable for the side they go on? like could you have a power fist and a gatling blaster for the right arm? Personally I'd like to see them offer both right and left power fists, or a left fist and right mega chainsword or something like that. And, do you have to have the missile launcher or is the model designed to still look ok without it?
