Me too! I think it may be the only "Real" army in the game. Tau perhaps as well. In the sense, they actually have to use the morale rules in earnest, that they have plausible vehicles and army compositions, they don't really have any magic, psykers, telelporting etc, and that the biggest characters they can field are, well, not as comic book 'esque.

Something honest about it.

Kind of hard to say for me. There are things I really like about all the armies, and I chose Tau as my main (and probably only army at this point). I agree that Tau and IG seem like the only "real" armies, obviously not so much Tau because they're aliens and all, but I really like the look of them, except for the goofy helmets.

Right now I'd have to say they're my most favorite, followed by Eldar, Orks, and probably IG. As far as Space Marines go, I like Salamanders and that's it.

Mine would have to be The Black Templar Space Marines ( of course) I like the Gothic Holy Purging theme to them almost like the knights of old or back in the Questing day's.

Mine would have to be Dark Angels and Daemonhunters. I love the lore and the figures look excellent. Especially the Daemonhunters.

My favorite is Eldar. They really fit my playstyle whereas my marines do not at all. It feels more like playing chess when I play my Eldar.

Chaos. Been that way since day one. Since I love conversions and modeling there are lot of opportunities with Chaos. Which may explain the reason why I suddenly have almost 4K of unbuilt orks including 3 flyers and a stompa

I like Tau. I like the fire-power you can crank out. If I did another army it would probably be Space Marines or Necrons. I like the idea of tough armies as well

I love me some Guardsmen. I've always liked the idea of basic humans fighting in the name of the Emperor to purge the Universe of Xenos/Demon scum. My first fantasy army was the Empire so I guess I've just been programmed that way.

The Imperial Guard series and the not-so holy trinity of Commissars (Yarrick, Cain, and Gaunt) has really helped to inspire me.

Also when I can manage to win with the IG it is so, so sweet.

Eldar followed by Tyranids, here.

I avoid human armies. They're mostly bland and unimaginative, to me.

I play bugs and love them to death, but Necrons are my favorite army followed closely by thousand sons.

I like the story behind the necrons and love the way the army looks. The gauss weapon effects and WBB to me are awesome. Thinking you shoot down a squad and they get up, and weapons randomly glancing/ignoring armor. There's no "safe" way to approach attacking them knowing they might randomly wreck your stuff. I was informed they were a tough army to play so I didn't pick them up. They're in the plans for after my CSM army gets big.

I like T-Sons also because of what they are. They're barely animate walking in their armor existing solely on account of the sorcerer with them.

It must come as no surpise if I were to start playing WHFB I'd play vamps. There's something about the quasi-alive or undead armies that really appeals to me.

"I drive a big car, cuz I'm a big star. I'll make a big rock-and-roll hit." "I am a big car, and I'm a strip bar. Some call it fake, I call it good-as-it-gets."

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

My first army was Space Marines that I really think are a nice army to play with, even more so with the new codex they have.

But voted Tau as I've always had a soft spot for robots and gundam's. So for me Tau fit the bill for a Robotic feel and look. Though I wish I could make them a little tougher or quicker in CC lol. but Hey, we can't have everything can we?

I take it back, I want to say Eldar now that I have seen the new IG codex. I think the "orders" special rules are horrible, its a thinly veiled exception rule unique to IG to let them do things no other army can do, it's as bad as faith points, which I think is the worst mechanic in the game. BOO.

Now I say Eldar, because they have less unique rules, actually use the morale rules sometimes and have a wide variety of units and great color schemes and mini variety and support. (I still like Tau also).

Guard.

I love having everything in parade formation. Just looks impressive. It'd look even more impressive if they were painted.

Followed by Chaos. I have as much Chaos as I do Guard (30,000 points), and I've had a lot of fun developing the 'evil' characters in our ongoing games and campaigns.

I too like the idea of Mankind surrounded by enemies and the IG trooper having the guts to go into battle with nothing but t-shirts and flashlights!

Barrint them, Daemonhunters as the ultimate "ghostbusters". Anyone know if there will ever be a new daemonhunter/xenohunter codex? Those rumors used to fly around like crazy and lately have been overwhelmed by IG and Planetstrike.

I wanted to say Guard (but there's that new Codex coming out) or Eldar (who're stuck with the 4E thing that does everything but skittles Biel-Tan), so I guess it's going to be Chaos Marines (who actually *can* do skittles well).

SM wasn't under consideration, though BA has the advantage of saving me $25 on the book...

Orks and IG for me.

::EDIT:: Ooh, looks like both are tied for first. I can't lose!

The Emperor doesn't seem to do much for you but you sure are expected to be mutilated, suffer, and die to make him happy. And is he dead or what? If he's entombed that would mean he's dead as a doornail, right? So, how can he be happy about anything you do, or even give orders to anyone? Are you worshipping the dead now? Is that something you'd really want to do? Because it sounds freaking creepy to me.

Daemonhunters for me. I started painting mine a while ago, but stopped because I wasn't good enough at the time. However, I believe I have finally reached the skill level that I desire to do a well painted Grey Knights force. Hopefully in the next couple years I will be able to finish this project.
